Our Mission
We are a diverse team of compassionate clinicians dedicated to growing together and making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve. Our shared goal is to provide effective outpatient and intensive treatment that truly helps people heal and thrive. Every member of our team brings care, expertise, and heart to the work we do, united by a belief that high-quality mental health care should be accessible, personal, and transformative.
Our Team
Our strength lies in the collaboration of exceptional mental health professionals from a wide range of disciplines, including psychology, social work, and counseling. Each clinician brings unique experience and perspective, yet we are connected by a shared commitment to patient-centered care. We continually refine our skills through advanced training, supervision, and teamwork, ensuring that our approach remains grounded in both empathy and evidence-based innovation. Together, we foster an environment where clinicians can grow professionally while our patients receive the most effective, compassionate care possible.
The Center for Anxiety Story
The Center for Anxiety was founded in 2011 by David H. Rosmarin, PhD, ABPP, in a single-room suite in New York City’s Flatiron District. With support from philanthropically minded individuals who believed in his vision, Dr. Rosmarin set out to fill a major gap in the city’s mental health landscape: to create a group practice that offers affordable, exceptional, and evidence-based care, tailored to each person’s unique needs.
From those humble beginnings, the Center for Anxiety has grown into a trusted resource serving thousands across the tri-state area and beyond. Our work extends beyond traditional talk therapy, offering intensive outpatient and Dialectical Behavior Therapy programs that provide targeted, evidence-based support for individuals facing complex or acute challenges. To date, we’ve helped transform the lives of more than 10,000 patients and their families—and we remain as dedicated as ever to bringing healing, growth, and hope to every person we serve.
Programs and services offered at Center For Anxiety
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a proven, empowering approach that helps individuals identify and transform unhelpful thought patterns that fuel distress. Whether you or your child is facing anxiety, stress, or chronic worry, CBT teaches practical skills to regain confidence, reduce negative thinking, and respond to life’s challenges with balance and resilience.
Our compassionate clinicians work collaboratively with you, tailoring each session to your needs and goals. CBT is available both in-person and online, making effective, evidence-based care accessible wherever you are.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Our Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program offers adolescents and adults the opportunity to build emotional stability, strengthen relationships, and develop self-acceptance. For those experiencing intense emotions or difficulties managing stress, DBT provides practical tools such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotion regulation to support lasting growth and change.
Led by skilled and caring clinicians, our DBT program empowers you to understand yourself more deeply and create the life you want to live. Services are available both in-person and virtually.
DBT Skills Group Therapy
Our virtual DBT Skills Groups create a supportive, interactive space where individuals can connect, learn, and grow together. Guided by experienced clinicians, each group focuses on developing practical skills to manage emotions, strengthen communication, and foster resilience.
These groups are a wonderful complement to individual therapy, offering a sense of community and shared understanding as you practice new tools and insights. We offer DBT skills groups for both adolescents (ages 11–17) and adults, available entirely online for your convenience.
EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based treatment that has been shown to create rapid, positive outcomes for individuals coping with trauma, PTSD, and related symptoms. This approach helps the brain process and heal from distressing experiences, reducing emotional pain and increasing overall well-being.
The Center for Anxiety is proud to have a team of clinicians certified in EMDR, alongside our other highly regarded therapeutic modalities. Through EMDR and complementary approaches, we help clients move beyond past trauma and reclaim a sense of calm, confidence, and control.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a powerful, growth-oriented experience for adolescents and adults who need focused, dynamic support in a flexible and welcoming setting. It offers the structure and depth of intensive care while allowing individuals to maintain their daily routines and responsibilities.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, or other emotional challenges, our IOP helps you create meaningful, lasting change through evidence-based, personalized treatment. With both in-person and virtual options, you can access the care you need in the way that works best for you.
Premium Intensive Care (Echelon)
For individuals seeking a deeper, more tailored treatment experience, our Premium Intensive Care (Echelon) program offers an elevated level of personalized support. Designed for those navigating complex challenges such as trauma, anxiety, or emotional distress, this program provides dedicated, one-on-one attention in a highly focused environment.
Our experienced clinicians work collaboratively with you to help you build strength, clarity, and confidence as you move toward healing. Echelon offers a unique opportunity to engage in intensive, transformative work with expert guidance and care.
Jewish Community Experience
At the Center for Anxiety, we have a deep understanding of the unique needs and values of the Jewish community. Our founder, Dr. David H. Rosmarin, serves as Director of the Spirituality and Mental Health Program at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, where he develops innovative methods for clinicians to thoughtfully integrate spirituality into mental health care. This pioneering work bridges the worlds of clinical excellence and spiritual wisdom in ways that deeply resonate with our Jewish clients and the broader faith-based community.
Dr. Rosmarin’s research has focused extensively on the Jewish population, exploring patterns of symptoms and treatment, the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy, and the role of spiritual struggle among Orthodox Jews. His personal connection to faith has also shaped his professional vision. As a young student struggling with anxiety, he found comfort and transformation through studying Chovos Halevavos and the concept of bitachon—trust in God. That experience became the foundation of his life’s work: integrating timeless Jewish wisdom with modern psychological practice to promote genuine healing and growth.
Through his acclaimed books, including Thriving with Anxiety: 9 Tools to Make Your Anxiety Work for You and The Connections Paradigm: Ancient Jewish Wisdom for Modern Mental Health, Dr. Rosmarin offers a refreshing perspective—that emotional challenges are not signs of weakness but reflections of spiritual depth. He reminds readers that countless Jewish leaders throughout history, from Moshe Rabbeinu to David HaMelech, experienced anxiety and emotional struggle. His message—that not all anxiety is a disorder, but can be part of being human and even spiritually meaningful—has resonated with millions worldwide, including through his appearance on The Mel Robbins Podcast, which reached #1 on Apple Podcasts with over 1.6 million downloads in just three days.
Our team includes many Jewish clinicians representing a wide spectrum of religious observance and cultural backgrounds, enabling us to meet clients wherever they are on their spiritual journey. Whether you’re looking for a therapist who honors Shabbat and Yom Tov, someone who understands the nuances of Jewish family and communal life, or simply a clinician who appreciates your values and worldview, we’re here for you. From secular to Orthodox, from those exploring their Jewish identity to those deeply rooted in tradition, we offer culturally sensitive care that respects and reflects your individual path.
As an identifiably Orthodox Jewish professional who speaks openly about blending Torah principles with evidence-based practice, Dr. Rosmarin has become a sought-after voice in academic, clinical, and community settings across the country. His philosophy—that emunah and bitachon can meaningfully complement evidence-based treatment—guides our entire practice. It’s a perspective that inspires hope and helps clients connect psychological well-being with spiritual strength.
With many of our clinicians licensed in up to 40 states, we’re proud to serve Jewish communities nationwide. Whether you’re in the heart of Brooklyn or part of a smaller Jewish community elsewhere, our in-person and virtual options make it possible to receive exceptional, culturally attuned mental health care from clinicians who truly understand your background, values, and needs.

The Center for Anxiety changed my life. I finally feel supported, understood, and confident about my future.

When I first came to the Center for Anxiety, my list of anxieties/fears was long! I was scared of getting sick, getting stranded, driving, flying and more. With the help of my therapist, I immediately got to work and tackled every one of my fears. Now the world is open to me and I feel free! I can dream big and accomplish whatever I set my mind to! I am especially grateful that I was able to do all this without having to rely on medication. It was hard work – grueling at times! – but now I have the coping tools within me for life. In fact a family member recently said to me “You are awesome. You can accomplish anything you set your mind to because you don’t let fear stop you! ” Thank you Dr. Rosmarin and the Center for Anxiety staff for helping me get here. My fears no longer limit me and I love my life. Try it, it might turn your life around too!”

When I first came in, I was struggling with panic disorder and didn’t even know it, which only made dealing with it that much more difficult. After my first time sitting down with my therapist, however, I instantly started to gain perspective and look at the difficult situation in a different light. Our meetings helped me conquer the issue step by step and get my life back on track. I’d strongly recommend that anyone dealing with anxiety in a way that impacts their day to day life should visit the Center for Anxiety! I know it helped me tremendously.”

Over the course of four years I developed anxiety-like symptoms (tightness in chest, gut, back) that slowly but surely increased in duration and severity. The EXTREMELY uncomfortable nature of the symptoms notwithstanding, I still continued and managed to function. The effort required to do so, however, left me utterly drained. Having always been a very spiritual person I strongly felt that a course of therapy incorporating a spiritual component could potentially work well for me and decided to give the Center for Anxiety a try. Happily, I have achieved significant symptom reduction, tremendously improved emotional/mental health, and above all, Connection. Medication free. I’m no longer just existing, I’m LIVING. I’ve been given a second chance to become the unique human being that I was meant to be.
