Since I was a young child, I can remember suffering when I saw people in pain. Whether it was a child being mistreated or a couple having a dispute with each other, I had a burning desire to alleviate their pain. I entered this profession to make that dream come true. Along the way, I learned that helping people heal was a whole lot more complicated than I anticipated, but that it was possible. My hope is to be able to help you and/or your family in your healing journey.
Moshe Norman's approach
My approach to therapy is bottom-up. Meaning, we examine early life experiences to understand present-day conflict and suffering. Your past is your present! I help my clients gain deep insight into their past and present life and identify the negative experiences from childhood that are perpetuating pain and suffering in their day-to-day life. Through our work, you will begin to deeply understand yourself and cultivate self-compassion and ultimately, self-acceptance. This, in turn, translates to decreased pain and suffering, and a strong and healthy sense of self. I also have extensive experience in Family Therapy, which includes dealing with family and marital dynamics. When there is tension in a family due to the apparent misbehavior of one party the entire family is affected. By bringing several parties of a family into the therapy room many of these parts can come together to heal the entire unit, which will result in significant improvement in the party who is acting out.
