Lee Grant's style
💙 Warm 😃 Humorous 👂 Listener 🥇 EmpoweringWhy Lee Grant chose to be in the helping profession
I have always been drawn to what lies beneath the surface—the quiet struggles hidden behind polished exteriors, the untold stories that shape how we live, love, and connect. My own journey of living in different parts of the world taught me an invaluable lesson: real strength doesn’t come from pretending to have it all together. It comes from allowing ourselves to be seen, understood, and supported by even just a trusted few. I believe that this kind of openness is not weakness, but a profound source of resilience.
My path into psychotherapy grew naturally out of my studies and work in both science and design. For me, it was a way to weave together scientific training, creative instincts, and a deep curiosity about people into meaningful work. Therapy, at its heart, is about creating space for reflection, steadying ourselves in times of uncertainty, and releasing what no longer serves us. It’s also about rediscovering joy in our growth and remembering that we don’t have to navigate it all alone.
There are some things we can only begin to understand when we look more closely. Within the soil we grow from, there will always be pebbles and rocks that seem to block our path. These represent the pains and conflicts that, at first, appear to keep us stuck. Yet, when we meet them with curiosity and self-compassion rather than judgment or frustration, we often find that they hold the very ingredients we need to grow stronger than we imagined possible.
The truth is that growth rarely comes from avoiding discomfort. The temptation to go around our pain is familiar, but real transformation happens when we walk through it. The friction we resist is often the same force that shapes us into fuller, more resilient versions of ourselves.
Lee Grant's approach
I opened my practice, Rollswood Therapy, as a space to blend the depth of psychology with practical tools for everyday life. My approach draws on both the systemic insights of science and the symbolic expressions of the arts. Together, we look not only at what you’re going through, but also at why it’s happening and how those patterns first took shape. Alongside this deeper exploration, I help clients identify small and manageable steps that bring relief and change between sessions, so the insights we uncover have room to continue unfolding in daily life.
I intentionally keep my caseload limited so that our work remains thoughtful, personal, and focused. Therapy is not just about uncovering what weighs us down, but about building the freedom to move forward with greater clarity and connection. The ethos of Rollswood Therapy rests on what I call the 3 R’s: Reflect, Release, and Rejoice. Reflect on what has shaped you. Release what no longer serves you or keeps you stuck. And rejoice in living a steadier, more autonomous, and connected life.
What you can expect from sessions with Lee Grant
You can expect a calm, private space where you never need to filter or edit yourself. Our work together is steady and unhurried, allowing time to go deep rather than rush through the surface. In our sessions, we’ll quiet the noise, uncover the patterns and pieces at play, and build the capacity to meet life’s inevitable challenges with greater clarity and resilience. Many clients leave with not only a grounded sense of insight, but also concrete steps they can practice at home—small shifts that, over time, create meaningful and lasting change.
I bring warmth, thoughtfulness, compassion, and yes, plenty of humorous metaphors into the room. My role is to walk alongside you rather than lead from ahead, because I believe each person already carries the tools they need within, even if those tools feel hidden or out of reach. Therapy is about shining a light on those inner resources and gently turning toward a direction that feels more steady, connected, and true. Together, we’ll create space for both reflection and action, so you can move forward with greater confidence in yourself and your path.
Lee Grant's experience working with the Jewish community
In addition to my private practice, I’ve had the privilege of working with JAMI over the past year, supporting Jewish clients as they navigate stress, identity, and relationship dynamics. My own Jewish heritage and Israeli background give me both cultural and linguistic closeness with many of the people I work with. I speak Hebrew fluently and also have conversational Russian, French, and Spanish, which allows me to connect with Jews from across the world in ways that feel both personal and accessible.
As a Jewish-Israeli-British parent raising four children, I understand firsthand the unique blend of strengths and pressures that come with Jewish family and community life. Clients often tell me that this shared background creates an immediate sense of trust and understanding in our sessions. While every individual and family is different, having this cultural and lived experience helps me offer not only empathy but also a deep appreciation for the complexities of balancing tradition, identity, and modern life.
