😃 Humorous 💡 Solution-oriented 🥇 Empowering 🎨 CreativeWhy Frayde Yudkowsky chose to be in the helping profession
My journey in mental health is driven by a deep love for people and a profound understanding of the human experience. I have a passion for creating spaces where everyone can grow and thrive, which has led me to wear many hats: therapist, founder, director, community activist, writer, editor, and event coordinator. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working in diverse environments—volunteer and non-profit organizations, psychiatric hospitals, outpatient programs, and residential settings. These experiences have sharpened my skills as a therapist and given me valuable insights into the intricacies of the mind and heart.
From the beginning, I’ve been committed to excellence, which was recognized when I was named Valedictorian during my BA studies. My dedication to learning didn’t stop there; I pursued advanced certifications in Mental Health First Aid, Psychological First Aid, and specialized training in Somatic Intervention, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I’m proud to have founded and directed initiatives like The Sarah Gluck Respite Program and Miryam’s House, offering crucial support to those in need. My work as a writer and editor has also allowed me to amplify voices and advocate for positive change.
Volunteering is central to my mission of serving others. Whether providing support to patients dealing with psychiatric and medical challenges or coordinating community events with groups like Mekimi Cheer Up Squad and Project Extreme, I’m deeply committed to making a difference. As a therapist, I believe in the power of connection and collaboration. With empathy, compassion, and deep respect for each individual’s path, I’m here to walk with my clients as they navigate challenges and tap into their inner strength and resilience. It’s an honor to create a space where healing happens and growth blooms.
Welcome to THRIVE! Mental Health, where you are supported, valued, and empowered to thrive!
Frayde Yudkowsky's approach
As a therapist, I deeply believe in our innate ability to discover H.O.P.E.—Healing, Opportunity, Purpose, and Empowerment. My vision for humanity is rooted in the belief that we can all uncover our intrinsic value and realize the lives we need, want, and deserve. My greatest hope is that every person recognizes their inherent worth, cultivating self-love, self-care, and self-respect along the way.
I understand human behavior through the lens of our survival instincts. We are driven to do whatever it takes to endure, whether our coping mechanisms are adaptive or maladaptive. Even when these strategies harm us or others, they are remarkable acts of survival. By addressing the underlying pain—physically, spiritually, and emotionally—we can free ourselves from the grip of shame and suffering. This liberation allows us to fully embrace our lives, passions, talents, and, ultimately, ourselves.
My extensive training in trauma has provided me with a solid clinical foundation. From Somatic Intervention under Ricki Bernstein, LMSW, SEP, to Progressive Counting and Flash techniques developed by Dr. Ricky Greenwald, I’ve acquired tools to help those healing from deep wounds. As a Certified Trauma Professional through the International Trauma Training Institute, I’ve come to understand that healing from trauma can feel like performing open-heart surgery without the safety of a sterile environment. This realization inspired me to become a recognized Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Trainer. DBT offers the high-quality care that is essential for trauma recovery.
With advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) from the Beck Institute, as well as certifications in Mental Health First Aid and Psychological First Aid, I am well-equipped to provide comprehensive support. Guiding individuals from dark, tumultuous places to peaceful, thriving spaces is my greatest joy. I look forward to offering you the care and support you need as we embark on this healing journey together.

Frayde Yudkowsky's experience working with the Jewish community
I have always been deeply connected to the Jewish community, both in my professional work and volunteer efforts. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working and volunteering in a variety of settings, from nonprofit organizations and treatment centers to psychiatric hospitals and support groups. My calling has always been to offer care, compassion, and support to my Jewish brothers and sisters in need, whether they are facing emotional challenges, mental health struggles, or simply seeking guidance.
In the past, I served as an educator in several Jewish schools, ranging from Syrian institutions to alternative high schools. These experiences have allowed me to connect with students from diverse backgrounds within the community, helping them navigate their unique paths while honoring our shared heritage. Whether in the classroom, in therapeutic settings, or in community outreach, my commitment to the Jewish community remains at the heart of everything I do.
Through these roles, I’ve gained a deep understanding of the cultural nuances, values, and needs of our community. This insight enables me to provide more tailored support and create a safe, nurturing environment where individuals can feel understood and truly seen. It’s been an honor to serve the Jewish community, and I remain dedicated to uplifting and empowering every person I work with.
