Why Feiga Weinstock, LMSW chose to be in the helping profession

I did not choose the profession, the profession chose me. I went to college for reasons other than a goal of being a social worker. These are the studies where I did best, so I continued on this track. I landed into social work. And. I didn't stop there. Even before I graduated I took specialized trainings in modalities I had an interest in. I find these somatic modalities helping people reach their goals of therapy much faster than the cerebral modalities.

I love using somatic intervention, IFS, guided imagery and PCIT. However, if a client enters the room asking for something else or I feel that there is something that would be more useful, I go for it.

I am here to give back to the Jewish community at least some of the benefits I have appreciated for so many years and on so many levels. People have stopped me in the street for instant therapy, on the go. However, therapy does not work this way. It takes long hard work. I know money is an issue as well. Therefore, I have lots of hours at a clinic where people can use their insurance to pay for the same as what I would provide in private practice. I have many years of experience working with children and families. As a clinician, I have a lot of success stories with people dealing with complex PTSD and other traumatic experiences.
