💙 Warm 👂 Listener 💡 Solution-oriented 🥇 Empowering 💠Open minded 🧘 CalmWhy Feiga Weinstock, LCSW chose to be in the helping profession
I did not choose the profession; the profession chose me. I went to college for reasons other than a goal of being a social worker. It was my love for learning. Psychology and social work studies is where I did best, so I continued this track. I landed into social work. I didn't stop there. Even before I graduated, I took specialized trainings in modalities I had an interest in. So here I am. And I am continuing to learn; from books, from people and from anything I can imagine.
Feiga Weinstock, LCSW's approach
I developed a liking for using Somatic Intervention, Brainspotting, IFS, Guided Imagery and PCIT. All with a focus on my client's strengths and building on them. I find these modalities helping people reach their goals of therapy faster than cerebral modalities, so this is what I use. Lots of social skills and perspective taking training is equally important in my practice. The combination makes for my client's ability to incorporate valuable resources and strengths in each session.
What you can expect from sessions with Feiga Weinstock, LCSW
The goal-oriented approach and therapeutic relationship are top priority. This is felt in every session. You will find more of your strengths than you have known you had. I try to cultivate a warm, supportive and empathic environment.
Feiga Weinstock, LCSW's experience working with the Jewish community
I am here to give back to the Jewish community at least some of the benefits I have appreciated for so many years and on so many levels. People have stopped me in the street for instant therapy, on the go. However, therapy does not work this way. Unfortunately, therapy sometimes takes long hard work, so patience is key. And, I know money is an issue as well. Therefore, I take some insurances in private practice. I have many years of experience working with adults, children and families. As a clinician, I have a lot of success stories with people struggling with parenting difficult children, PTSD and relationship issues.
I work well with people from a few different communities; some of them are the Chassidishe community of Williamsburg where I'm located, Boro Park, the Chabad community of Crown Heights, the Sfardi community of Queens and people from the LES Manhattan.
