Mattie Chein, LCSW's style
💙 Warm 🥇 Empowering 💭 Open minded 🎨 CreativeWhy Mattie Chein, LCSW chose to be in the helping profession
There comes a moment when you realize the way you have been coping is no longer working, no matter how hard you try to push through. You may feel stuck in patterns that no longer match the life you want or the person you know yourself to be. You want things to feel different in your relationships, in your body, and in the choices you make each day. You are tired of surviving on autopilot and want to feel more present, grounded, and connected to yourself.
You may be ready to stop escaping, stop overthinking, and start understanding what is really driving your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. You want more confidence, more self awareness, and a deeper sense of peace in your day to day life. You are not looking for quick fixes or surface level change, but something real and lasting. You want a therapist who can walk alongside you as you do the work of transforming old patterns and creating a life that feels more aligned, intentional, and true to you.
Mattie Chein, LCSW's approach
Together we will look beneath the stress and long standing patterns to understand what is really going on, not just what is showing up on the surface. We will take time to make sense of your experiences and build a plan that is thoughtful, practical, and tailored to you. The work is collaborative and intentional, with space to slow down, reflect, and move forward in ways that feel meaningful. We move at a pace that feels right, while still keeping your goals in clear focus.
I draw from tools like EMDR, somatic work, CBT, DBT, and inner child work when they are helpful, always guided by what you need in the moment. My approach is warm, direct, and grounded, with an emphasis on helping you feel more steady and capable in your day to day life. This is not about fixing you, but about helping you better understand yourself and your patterns. Over time, the goal is for you to feel more in control, more confident in your choices, and more connected to the life you are building.
What you can expect from sessions with Mattie Chein, LCSW
My hope is that from the very first call, you feel comfortable, understood, and clear about what working together could look like. I want you to have a sense of whether this feels like the right fit and to know that your time and experience are respected. This is meant to be a safe, grounded space where you can explore what feels stuck, what feels possible, and what you want to move toward next. If you are looking for support as you take steps toward the life you want, I would be glad to walk alongside you when you are ready.
Mattie Chein, LCSW's experience working with the Jewish community
I grew up Chabad Orthodox, and over time my relationship with Judaism has evolved toward a more traditional lifestyle. That lived experience gives me a deep understanding of religious identity, transitions in observance, and the complexities that can come with navigating personal growth within a Jewish framework. I am familiar with the values, expectations, and nuances of Orthodox life, as well as the questions that often arise when beliefs or practices begin to shift. This background allows me to meet clients with cultural awareness, respect, and sensitivity for where they come from and where they are going.

“My son and I had such a great experience working with Mattie. We navigated a time of transition with him as a young adult/college student and dove into root causes for the dynamics we were experiencing. He had no prior belief in therapy, but working with Mattie allowed him to see the value in having a safe place to be honest and open. We accomplished our goals and look forward to future check-ins to maintain our progress together.”
