I know what it’s like to feel stuck—to want things to change but not know how. Maybe you overthink everything, push yourself too hard, or struggle in relationships no matter how much you try. On the outside, life looks fine, but inside, something feels off. I’ve been there, and I know how frustrating it is to feel like you should have it all together but still feel lost.
That’s why I do this work. As a therapist, I help people figure out what’s keeping them stuck—whether it’s anxiety, perfectionism, unhealthy habits, or trouble with relationships. Therapy with me is a mix of talking things through and learning real tools, so you don’t just understand your struggles—you learn how to change them.
You don’t have to do this alone. If you’re tired of just “getting by” and want to feel more in control, more connected, and more at peace, I’m here to help.
Mattie Chein's approach
Therapy shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all because you are not one-size-fits-all. If you’ve ever felt like therapy didn’t quite fit—maybe it felt too slow, too structured, or not helpful enough—you’re not alone. That’s why I use different tools and styles based on what works best for you.
Some days, you might need clear strategies to manage stress, set boundaries, or break old habits. That’s when we’ll use tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Other days, you might need space to process deeper feelings, work through past pain, or understand why you keep repeating the same patterns. That’s where Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic work come in. I adjust my approach as we go, making sure therapy helps you in the way that works best for you.
My goal is simple: to help you understand yourself better and make real changes in your life. If you feel stuck in the same cycles, struggle with overthinking, or feel like you’re carrying too much, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Therapy can be the space where you finally feel understood, supported, and ready to move forward.
What you can expect from sessions with Mattie Chein
Therapy with me is a mix of talking things through and learning tools that actually help. You won’t just sit and vent—we’ll figure out what’s really going on and find ways to change it. Some days, we’ll focus on big things like why certain patterns keep repeating. Other days, we’ll work on small but powerful steps that can make life easier.
I offer a space where you can be real. You don’t have to filter yourself or worry about saying the “right” thing. I’m here to listen, help you make sense of things, and challenge you when needed—but always in a way that feels supportive, not harsh. Some sessions might feel like big breakthroughs, and others might feel like small steps forward, but every step matters.
After each session, I want you to walk away with something useful—a new way of thinking, a strategy to try, or just feeling a little lighter. If you’re ready to stop feeling stuck and start making real changes, let’s connect.
