Why DBT Groups for Adults & Adolescents chose to be in the helping profession
At Heartful Mental Health PLLC, our DBT group provides a supportive and welcoming space where clients can develop practical tools to manage emotions, reduce anxiety and depression, improve relationships, and respond more skillfully to impulsive behaviors. We focus on teaching real-life strategies through proven DBT techniques that build resilience, encourage mindfulness, and promote meaningful, lasting change. Our approach is hands-on and practical, helping clients integrate these skills into their daily lives in ways that feel natural and sustainable.
Our mission is to guide individuals toward living with greater awareness, balance, and connection. We aim to help clients create lives that are more aligned with their values, grounded in presence, and flowing with intention. By strengthening these skills, clients can navigate life with steadiness and ease, rather than feeling swept up by shifting moods or intense emotions. Ultimately, we are here to empower each person to engage with life fully, with confidence, clarity, and a sense of inner calm.
DBT Groups for Adults & Adolescents's approach
Our groups are open to females who are seeking emotional balance, resilience, and practical tools to navigate life’s challenges. Each group provides a heart-centered, skill-based environment where participants can build greater awareness, confidence, and connection.
The adolescent group is designed for teens ages 13–18 who are learning to manage school, friendships, and the ups and downs of emotions. This supportive space helps teens develop skills to navigate social and emotional challenges with more confidence and self-understanding.
The adult group is for individuals ages 19 and up, including young adults and adults working through stress, life transitions, or relationship challenges. It is also well suited for those on a healing or trauma recovery journey who want to learn practical tools and strategies to support personal growth and resilience. Each session encourages participants to practice skills that foster mindfulness, emotional regulation, and stronger connections with themselves and others.
What you can expect from sessions with DBT Groups for Adults & Adolescents
When joining our DBT Skills Group, participants can expect a structured and supportive environment designed to teach practical tools that can be applied to everyday life. Each cycle runs approximately nine to ten weeks and includes Mindfulness (always taught) along with one of the core DBT modules: Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, or Interpersonal Effectiveness. For those who wish to continue, all four modules can be completed over the course of about six months, allowing participants to steadily build a full set of skills.
Each session begins with a mindfulness exercise to ground and center participants, followed by a review of homework and the introduction of new DBT skills to practice throughout the week. The group emphasizes hands-on learning in a supportive space where participants can explore strategies for managing emotions, improving relationships, and navigating life challenges with greater ease. Sessions are $125 each, and sliding scale options are available upon request to ensure accessibility for those who need it.
DBT Groups for Adults & Adolescents's experience working with the Jewish community
With over 14 years of therapeutic experience, my professional journey has been closely connected to the Jewish community. I have had the privilege of working in a variety of settings within this community, which has given me a rich and nuanced understanding of its values, traditions, and unique challenges. My own Jewish identity serves as a guiding compass, informing and enriching the way I approach my work while allowing me to connect more deeply with those I support.
I recognize and honor the diversity within the Jewish community, and I approach every client with mindfulness, respect, and sensitivity. It is important to me to consider the wide range of experiences, beliefs, and interpretations that shape each individual’s journey. This commitment ensures that my therapeutic support is both personally informed and carefully attuned to each person’s unique perspective. My goal is to help clients navigate life with greater awareness, resilience, and connection while honoring the values and experiences that are meaningful to them.
