Rivky Weiss's style
🎯 Direct 💙 Warm 🥇 Empowering 🤝 CollaborativeWhy Rivky Weiss chose to be in the helping profession
I am passionate about helping people discover the best version of themselves. As a child and young adult, I have witnessed the effects of generational trauma on my family and in the Jewish community at large and my interest in healing these wounds was sparked.
As Peter Levine says, "Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathic witness". Through my personal and professional work, I witnessed the wonderful healing that takes place when we have a chance to share our stories and experiences with someone trained to hold that space for us and help us create meaning and growth from pain. For this reason, I specialize in trauma work.
I also particularly enjoy working with women who struggle with PMADS (Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders). Through my work in the mental health field, I have noticed a deficit in psychoeducation, specialized knowledge, and evidence-based treatments that are specifically geared toward the unique needs of women's mental health and it is a core value of mine to contribute to educating and working with individuals in these demographics.
Rivky Weiss's approach
My therapy style is warm and compassionate. I focus on listening to your story and helping you hear your story as well so that you can develop self-compassion as well. I am trained in various trauma modalities including Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, EMDR, TFCBT, and Somatic work. I work through an attachment and trauma-informed lens and customize treatment based on my client's individual needs.
What you can expect from sessions with Rivky Weiss
You can expect your presence, your story, and your experiences to be honored in sessions with me. I firmly believe that therapeutic healing takes place when a strong healthy and positive relationship is formed between therapist and client and the cornerstone of my work lies in ensuring we build a relationship that feels safe and secure. Together we explore how past attachments have informed your current relationships and life decisions, identify where and how you are stuck in your life, and begin working towards living a healthier more fulfilled life. We will craft the best version of you, create a roadmap on how to get there, and begin embarking on that journey ensuring you have adequate support, skills, and resources.
Rivky Weiss's experience working with the Jewish community
I have lived in and worked in the Jewish community for many years. While I am familiar with the various nuances each religious community presents, I am careful not to make judgments about people's beliefs and religious practices so that my clients feel safe and free in their own religious (or lack thereof) self-expression.
