💙 Warm 🥇 Empowering 🌎 Holistic 🤝 CollaborativeWhy Amanda Sacks, LCSW, RYT-500 chose to be in the helping profession
I’ve always been drawn to understanding people’s inner worlds and creating spaces where others feel seen, supported, and less alone. In 2010, I began teaching trauma-informed yoga in hospital and psychiatric mental health settings, and I quickly saw how the breathwork and movement practices could transform not just the body, but emotional and mental well-being. That experience sparked a curiosity that grew into a deeper commitment, leading me to pursue clinical training as an LCSW so I could support people in a more comprehensive way. I believe the work clients do in sessions has ripple effects, shaping friendships, relationships, family dynamics, and ultimately contributing to stronger communities.
It’s powerful to witness how individual change can expand far beyond what feels personal or contained. Walking alongside people as they navigate real transformation is deeply inspiring to me. I approach each session with warmth, curiosity, and a genuine respect for each person’s unique journey, holding space for both challenge and growth. Being part of that process, and seeing the ways it touches every corner of someone’s life, continues to reinforce why I do this work.
Amanda Sacks, LCSW, RYT-500's approach
I believe therapy should be as unique as you are. Each session is designed to honor the many dimensions of who you are, embracing a holistic, whole-person approach guided by warmth and compassion. While I draw on traditional talk therapy methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), my practice places a strong emphasis on mindfulness and somatic, body-based approaches, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), to create a comprehensive path toward healing.
In our work together, you’ll explore ways to access calm, release tension, and process emotions that may have been stuck or overwhelming. You’ll have space to reconnect deeply with yourself, discover new tools for resilience, and move toward lasting change. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, more present, and more attuned to your own needs and strengths, so the progress you make in therapy carries over into every part of your life.
What you can expect from sessions with Amanda Sacks, LCSW, RYT-500
In our sessions, you can expect a space that is warm, welcoming, grounded, and direct. We’ll focus on supporting your emotional well-being, deepening your connection with your body, and exploring patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and relationships. While we work with traditional talk therapy, sessions may also include breathwork, mindfulness exercises, and other somatic practices when they feel right for you.
Our approach is collaborative: your goals, your pace, and your priorities guide the work we do together. We’ll explore strategies for self-awareness, self-kindness, and applying insights in real life. Above all, you’ll have a space where you are truly seen, heard, and supported, and where meaningful, lasting change is possible.
Amanda Sacks, LCSW, RYT-500's experience working with the Jewish community
My experience with the Jewish community has been a meaningful part of both my life and my identity. I have a deep appreciation for its diversity, from Reform to Orthodox, and all the varied levels of observance in between. What matters most to me is creating spaces of genuine acceptance and openness, where people can feel seen, supported, and free from judgment.
This perspective informs not only my personal relationships but also my professional work. I strive to honor each person’s unique beliefs, practices, and journey, showing up with respect, curiosity, and care. By holding this understanding at the center of my work, I aim to create a space where clients can explore growth and healing in a way that feels authentic to who they are.
