Erica Golden, RDN, IFNCP's style
🙌 Affirming 🥇 EmpoweringWhy Erica Golden, RDN, IFNCP chose to be in the helping profession
I have always been fascinated by the human body and mind. Over time, my focus has shifted from viewing health challenges as error codes that need to be fixed to seeing each person as a whole individual, deeply connected to their community. I genuinely love listening to the stories my clients share, and I find that we learn from each other in meaningful ways. The relationships I build with my clients are one of the most rewarding aspects of my work, offering a space for trust, growth, and understanding.
What brings me the most fulfillment is witnessing the transformations that unfold as people become better nourished, improve their quality of life, and rediscover the fullness of who they are. I feel privileged to support clients as they reclaim their energy, vitality, and sense of self. Each journey is unique, and being part of it allows me to celebrate not just the changes, but the resilience and courage people show along the way. Helping others live more fully as themselves is what makes this work truly meaningful to me.
Erica Golden, RDN, IFNCP's approach
I am a clinical dietitian, author, and educator with a deep passion for personalized, holistic care. I work with clients using integrative and functional nutrition and lifestyle tools to support both mental health and gastrointestinal health, specializing in conditions such as depression, anxiety, disordered eating, and disorders of the gut-brain interaction (DGBIs). Through weight-inclusive, trauma-informed nutrition counseling, I focus on helping clients build healthier, more compassionate relationships with food and with their bodies. For me, the heart of this work is creating a safe space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make changes that truly support their well-being.
In addition to working directly with clients, I am dedicated to training other health professionals in trauma-informed nutrition care and mental health. I am the author of two continuing education books for clinicians: Trauma-Informed Care: An Integrative Nutrition Approach to Empowered Healing and Nutrition and Mental Health: Integrative Approaches for Diet, Dysfunction and the Gut-Brain Axis. My approach is grounded in a belief in the innate wisdom and self-knowledge of each individual, the transformative power of the client-provider relationship, and the importance of collaboration and mutual learning. I strive to meet clients where they are, supporting them in reclaiming their health, resilience, and sense of self.
What you can expect from sessions with Erica Golden, RDN, IFNCP
currently operate a telehealth-only practice using a HIPAA-compliant platform, allowing clients to access care safely and conveniently from anywhere. In our introductory session, which is typically the longest at 60-75 minutes, we spend the majority of our time talking about you—your history, your health, and your lifestyle and dietary practices. I ask a lot of questions, but I also want you to get to know me, and for us to begin building a trusting and therapeutic clinical relationship. Together, we collaborate to set both short- and long-term goals, and I create a personalized, holistic nutrition and lifestyle plan designed to help you reach them.
In follow-up sessions, usually lasting 45-60 minutes, we focus on refining your plan and developing practical solutions to any challenges that arise. These sessions also provide education, answer your questions, and build your understanding so you can feel confident in the choices you’re making. We work together to create the tools and strategies that support your goals, including meal plans, recipe books, shopping lists, exercise plans, and bowel and sleep hygiene routines. My goal is to provide guidance that is both actionable and sustainable, helping you make meaningful progress toward lasting health and well-being.
Erica Golden, RDN, IFNCP's experience working with the Jewish community
I believe that holistic health care inherently includes attention to spirituality and cultural identity. Throughout my career as a dietitian, I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations, which has deepened my understanding of how culture, tradition, and personal beliefs intersect with nutrition and health. I also have extensive experience with kosher food practices, including how they relate to meal planning, supplements, and medications.
On a personal level, I understand the challenges of navigating the existing food system to find choices that meet both health needs and cultural or spiritual requirements. I am committed to helping clients find solutions that honor their values while supporting their health, making nutrition both practical and meaningful in the context of their lives.

What people have to say about working with me:
-
I don't think there are enough words to write here to express how grateful I am to have Erica in my life. She has changed my life. I first met her when I suffered from bad SIBO, which she did an amazing job helping me recover from. I continued to suffer from severe constipation and a lot more issues with my stomach. Every day I had to take a shocking amount of laxatives just to get by. But slowly, with Erica's help, I am not taking any more laxatives. If you told me this a year or two ago I would not believe you. But I now take no laxatives, I eat a very broad and diverse diet (when it used to be extremely restrictive before), my stomach is a lot less sensitive, and she has given me so many tools to manage the symptoms along my journey. Erica has literally changed my life. She is one of the most important and most intelligent medical professionals I have ever worked with and am grateful for her. If you are struggling, there is hope, and she may help you get there.

Erica is a fantastic provider. I found her while searching for a dietitian near me. I was feeling at my wit's end with diets, self guided intuitive eating, and failed online programs. Erica is such a positive person and she is very knowledgeable and realistic. We have worked on eating for better mental health, preparing for pregnancy, and to improve my lab values. I'm happy to say that my lab values improved significantly and I'm now 6 months pregnant. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone! She's amazing. She's a great listener and she will focus on your goals and how she can guide you.

Erica is a very knowledgeable dietitian! She is especially knowledgeable in the areas of gut health and mental health. She provided in-services to her peers about both topics. After leaving the VA, she provided training to our interns as well!
