💙 Warm 😃 Humorous 👂 Listener 🥇 EmpoweringWhy Vanessa Abraham, BSc chose to be in the helping profession
As a child, I was exposed to the world of psychotherapy through a friend whose family worked in this field. I was fascinated by their perspectives on life and how they helped others. This early exposure sparked my interest and ultimately led me to pursue a career in the helping profession.
During my early adulthood, I dedicated six years of my time as a volunteer counselor at a charity organization, while balancing a full-time job. It was during this time that I realized my passion for helping others was more than just a hobby.
As I entered into motherhood, I took a break from my career and volunteer work. However, during this time, I began to miss the satisfaction I received from helping others. This experience further reinforced my passion and commitment to the helping profession.
Ultimately, it was the existential questions that arose during my pregnancy and maternity leave that solidified my decision to pursue a career as a psychotherapist. My enthusiasm and determination for this field continue to drive me to this day.
Vanessa Abraham, BSc's approach
My therapeutic approach is grounded in an eclectic and holistic philosophy that incorporates the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit. In today's fast-paced Western society, we often prioritize our "head brain" while disregarding the wisdom of our "heart brain" and "gut brain". My approach aims to bridge this gap and foster communication among all three, leading to a deeper sense of wholeness and well-being for my clients.
I believe that everyone's journey is unique and requires a tailored approach that honors their individual experiences, challenges, and goals. Through empathy, support, and empowerment, I work with my clients to facilitate their journey toward self-discovery and self-realization.
By examining the impact of their past on their present, my clients gain greater insight into their emotional patterns and develop the tools to navigate life's challenges with greater clarity and confidence. Ultimately, my goal is to create a safe and compassionate space for my clients to explore and transform into the best version of themselves, in alignment with their authentic desires and aspirations.

Vanessa Abraham, BSc's experience working with the Jewish community
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of individuals within the Jewish community. I have volunteered and received training from three Jewish counseling charity organizations, which has given me a deep understanding of the unique nuances and complexities of Jewish life.
I am sensitive to the ambivalence that some may experience as part of this community, as well as the phenomenon of spiritual bypassing. At the same time, I recognize the tremendous support and anchoring that a community can offer to its members.
My experience has taught me that when individuals fully accept and embrace themselves, they can feel liberated and empowered regardless of their surroundings. I am committed to helping my clients within the Jewish community to access their inner strength and resilience, so that they can thrive in all aspects of their lives.
