Tav Hariri's style
💙 Warm 👂 Listener 💡 Solution-oriented 🥇 EmpoweringWhy Tav Hariri chose to be in the helping profession
Having faced my own health challenges, I’ve gained a deep appreciation for the transformative power of proper nutrition. I’ve experienced firsthand how nourishing the body can bring more energy, improve health outcomes, and help cultivate a positive, balanced relationship with food. These personal experiences are what ignited my passion to become a Registered Dietitian. For me, supporting others is not just about sharing advice or guidelines—it’s about genuinely walking alongside them, understanding their unique journey, and celebrating the small and big victories along the way.
There is something truly fulfilling about empowering people to take control of their health and feel confident in their choices. Whether someone is managing a chronic condition or looking to enhance their overall well-being, I approach each person with empathy, evidence-based knowledge, and practical strategies tailored to their needs. My goal is to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where individuals feel heard, encouraged, and capable of reaching their health goals. I love seeing clients discover their own strength and resilience and knowing that together we can make lasting, meaningful changes.
Tav Hariri's approach

I believe that nutrition doesn’t have to be overwhelming or restrictive, and that small, intentional changes can lead to meaningful, lasting results. My approach is grounded in practicality, focusing on what works for you in the context of your life, rather than following one-size-fits-all rules.
That’s why I prioritize a personalized, realistic approach with every client. Together, we’ll build a plan that fits your unique needs, helping you feel energized, confident, and empowered throughout your health journey. With compassion, understanding, and a focus on achievable goals, we’ll develop strategies that are sustainable and genuinely effective. Initial Nutrition Consultation (60 Minutes)
Your first appointment is a 60-minute, in-depth session designed to get to know you and your unique health story. We’ll explore your daily routines, food preferences, and personal wellness goals, as well as any health conditions, medications, or supplements that may influence your nutrition needs. This session provides a complete picture of your current eating patterns and lifestyle factors, allowing us to identify opportunities for meaningful, sustainable change. By the end of our initial session, we’ll begin mapping out a personalized nutrition roadmap that aligns with your lifestyle and sets the stage for long-term success.
Follow-Up Sessions (45-60 Minutes)
Follow-up sessions are where the real progress happens. These appointments give us the chance to review how your plan is working, celebrate your successes, and make adjustments to keep you moving forward. Typically scheduled every 1–2 weeks during the first few months, follow-ups provide accountability, motivation, and ongoing education to strengthen your confidence with food and lifestyle choices. Each session is an opportunity to ask questions, explore challenges, and receive continued support and resources. You’ll gain practical tools, recipe inspiration, and personalized guidance that evolves with your goals, helping you build lasting habits and a healthier relationship with food.
Tav Hariri's experience working with the Jewish community
As a Registered Dietitian with strong roots in the Jewish community, I bring both professional expertise and a personal understanding of Jewish culture, values, and lifestyle. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of leading nutrition workshops for Olami in my hometown and teaching seminars and educational classes for young women at Aish in Israel. These experiences have given me the opportunity to connect with individuals in meaningful ways, providing guidance that respects both health needs and cultural context.
Much of my work involves supporting Jewish clients in creating balanced, practical nutrition strategies that honor kosher guidelines, holiday observances, and community traditions. As a Modern Orthodox dietitian, I live the same rhythms as my clients—from shopping in kosher markets to preparing for Shabbat and Yom Tov gatherings with family and friends. This shared experience allows me to offer advice that is not only practical but truly relatable, helping clients integrate wellness seamlessly into their daily lives.
As a Ba’alat Teshuva dietitian, I bring both personal insight and professional expertise to my practice. Having navigated my own journey toward observance, I understand firsthand the challenges and rewards of balancing Torah values with modern life. This perspective allows me to approach clients with unique sensitivity, helping them maintain their health and wellness while fully embracing Shabbat, Yom Tov, and kashrut. Together, we explore practical strategies that honor spiritual and physical well-being.
I also work with non-observant or culturally Jewish individuals who may not keep kosher or observe Shabbat. In these cases, my approach is entirely centered on each person’s individual goals—whether it’s weight management, improving lab values, managing digestive issues, or fostering a healthier relationship with food. My mission is to provide compassionate, personalized care to every member of the Jewish community, regardless of background or level of observance, ensuring that each client feels heard, understood, and empowered on their wellness journey.

What people have to say about working with me:
-
I’ve known Eliana Kohanzad, LMFT, for about 10 years now. She’s been an instructor of Pepperdine’s Clinical Masters practicum classes for that long, teaching and guiding our Psychology degree Master’s level students seeking licensure as Marriage and Family Therapists. She has been one of my favorite instructors as I assist her students with their state-required practicum sites and licensure documentation. Professor Kohanzad has a wonderful, gentle, and understanding approach to teaching students in her clinical classes. She has often handled difficult student scenarios beautifully. I’m SO thankful for her partnership in guiding our Pepperdine students in their sometimes difficult clinical situations.
