Why Shoshana Ort chose to be in the helping profession

I became a psychotherapist because I’ve personally experienced how life’s most difficult challenges can become transformative when supported by the right guidance. During some of the most trying times in my life, having the right therapist helped me not only survive, but also thrive. It was through their support that I was able to turn adversity into growth, and it sparked a deep passion within me to offer that same care, understanding, and empowerment to others. I know firsthand the power therapy can have when dealing with life’s struggles, and I’m committed to helping my clients tap into their own strength, navigate their challenges, and emerge stronger on the other side.

For individuals, I use techniques like psychoeducation to empower you with knowledge, DBT and CBT to develop practical coping skills, and exposure therapy to tackle specific anxieties head-on. I focus on rewiring the anxious brain—helping you uncover its roots and develop personalized strategies to respond to stress in healthier, more effective ways. My goal is to help you not just manage anxiety, but thrive beyond it. I specialize in rewiring the anxious brain—transforming how you respond to stress and anxiety. For those facing trauma or addiction, I incorporate EMDR and other trauma-focused therapies to help you heal, regain control, and move forward. I also incorporate inner child work to help you reconnect with and heal past wounds. For trauma and anxiety, I use EMDR, a powerful evidence-based approach that helps you process and move past painful experiences.
