It honestly feels like this path chose me. Iāve always trusted Hashem to guide my steps, and this was no different. There were so many other directions I could have taken, but every time I reached a crossroads, something pulled me back to this work.
Along the way, Iāve been blessed with mentors who saw something in me that I didnāt always see in myself. Their encouragement, along with that inner sense of knowing, kept nudging me forward. Looking back, itās clear that becoming a therapist wasnāt just about me making a career choiceāit was about answering a calling, one that feels deeply aligned with who I am.
Lauren Hofstatter, LMHC's approach
I take a solution-focused, goal-oriented approach to therapy and coaching, which means I prioritize helping my clients move forward in practical, meaningful ways. While exploring emotions and past experiences has its place, I believe progress comes when we focus on actionable steps and clear outcomes. Together, we work toward creating real change by setting specific goals that reflect what you want to achieve, whether itās improving relationships, managing stress, or finding clarity in a difficult situation.
Iām also a "tell-it-like-it-is" therapistāthough always with kindness and empathy. My clients can expect honesty and direct feedback because sugarcoating things doesnāt lead to growth. I believe in creating a safe space where you can hear the truth without judgment and where we can work through challenges with compassion. Weāll laugh when it feels right, get real when needed, and keep things focused on moving you closer to the life you want to build. Each session is structured to leave you with something practical to reflect on or apply, so the work we do together feels purposeful and empowering from the very start.
What you can expect from sessions with Lauren Hofstatter, LMHC
Our sessions are custom-tailored to meet your unique needs, which is why, when clients ask me what ātypeā of therapy I do, my answer is always, āThe type of therapy you need.ā No two clients are the same, and I believe itās essential to adapt my approach to what feels most helpful for you. Whether you need support processing emotions, practical solutions to lifeās challenges, or a mix of both, I meet you where you are and adjust as we go.
Iām committed to working with you, not just for you. We collaborate to ensure the process feels aligned with how you want to grow and what makes sense for your life. Together, weāll develop clear goals and create a plan thatās manageable and focused, so each session builds on the last. At the end of every session, youāll leave with a sense of directionāsomething concrete to think about or work on during the week. This way, your progress feels steady and intentional, giving you the tools and momentum to move forward at a pace thatās right for you.
Lauren Hofstatter, LMHC's experience working with the Jewish community
Iāve had the privilege of working with the Jewish community for the past 15 years, deeply connected as both a professional and an active member of my local community. This work has always felt natural to meāunderstanding the unique cultural and spiritual dynamics of Jewish life has allowed me to support individuals in ways that feel meaningful and aligned with their values.
Professionally, I began my career as a school counselor, where I provided emotional support to students and their families, helping them navigate academic pressures, personal challenges, and social dynamics. This role gave me invaluable insight into the needs of young people and the importance of mental health within the framework of family and community. In September 2023, I transitioned into private practice, where I now work with clients one-on-one.
Whether Iām working with teens, young adults, or families, I aim to create a space where Jewish identity is respected and integrated into the healing process. I understand that faith, tradition, and spirituality often play essential roles in personal growth, and I strive to help my clients find clarity and well-being within the context of their unique journey.
