💙 Warm 💡 Solution-oriented 🥇 Empowering 🤝 CollaborativeAbout Balance Eating Disorder Treatment Center
At BALANCE Eating Disorder Treatment Center™, we are driven by a mission to transform lives and empower individuals to break free from the grips of eating disorders. Founded by Melanie Rogers, a Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian and a recognized pioneer in the field, BALANCE is rooted in her deep commitment to redefining recovery. Melanie's vision was to create a safe haven where individuals could heal holistically, addressing not only the symptoms of eating disorders but the underlying emotional, psychological, and physical factors contributing to them.
Melanie's journey in founding BALANCE was inspired by her personal and professional understanding of the complexities of eating disorders. As someone who has overcome her own struggles, she has poured her passion and expertise into building an environment where clients feel genuinely understood, cared for, and supported. Under her leadership, BALANCE has become New York City’s premier outpatient treatment center, known for its innovative, compassionate approach.
Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that recovery is not just about overcoming disordered eating—it’s about reclaiming your life. At BALANCE, we treat the whole person, recognizing the importance of integrating body, mind, and spirit in the healing process. Everything we do reflects our dedication to fostering sustainable recovery and empowering clients to thrive beyond their challenges.

Every program is grounded in evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Family-Based Treatment (FBT), ensuring clients receive the most effective and compassionate care.
Jewish Community Experience
While BALANCE is a diverse and inclusive center, we are attuned to the unique needs of clients from all backgrounds, including those from the Jewish community. Our culturally sensitive approach ensures that clients can navigate their recovery in a way that respects their values, traditions, and identities.
Whether it’s accommodating kosher dietary needs, respecting religious observances, or addressing community-specific challenges related to eating disorders, we strive to create a supportive environment that aligns with each client’s cultural and spiritual framework. Our multidisciplinary team is trained to approach care with sensitivity and inclusivity, allowing clients to feel seen, heard, and respected throughout their healing journey.
