Why Ahuva Blatter, LPCC chose to be in the helping profession

I chose to be in the helping profession because I genuinely care about supporting others through challenges, helping them feel understood, and empowering them to recognize their strengths and create meaningful change in their lives. I believe that having someone who listens, understands, and helps you make sense of what you are experiencing can make a real difference. I was drawn to the opportunity to be that person for others and to walk alongside them as they navigate difficult moments and discover new possibilities.

When I understood that, as a therapist, with the proper training and supervision, I would be able to partner with others and make a meaningful impact, I was sold! That sense of purpose continues to motivate me with each and every session. I feel privileged to be part of someone's journey and to help them recognize their own strengths, build on what is already there, and work toward meaningful change. For me, it is about creating a space where people feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow.

Ahuva Blatter, LPCC's approach

My approach to counseling is collaborative, relational, and attachment- and trauma-focused. I believe meaningful change develops through a safe, trusting connection where clients feel genuinely understood and supported. I work alongside clients and families, building on their strengths while exploring emotions, relationships, patterns, and underlying needs. I believe that understanding what is beneath the surface can help us make sense of behaviors and emotional responses, opening the door to new ways of connecting and relating to one another.

I tailor my approach to each individual and family, recognizing that everyone brings their own experiences, needs, and strengths into the therapy room. I incorporate play, developmental, and family-based interventions to support growth and lasting change. I pay attention to the relationships and connections that shape how we experience the world, while helping clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves and one another. My goal is to meet each client where they are and work together to find an approach that feels supportive, meaningful, and right for them.

What you can expect from sessions with Ahuva Blatter, LPCC

You can expect a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where we work together to understand what is beneath the behaviors and emotions you or your child may be experiencing. I want clients and families to feel comfortable, safe, and understood as we explore what is happening and what may be contributing to the challenges they are facing. Rather than focusing only on the behaviors we see on the surface, we work to understand the emotions, needs, and relationship patterns underneath them. This understanding can help create opportunities for greater connection, growth, and change.

Sessions focus on building connection and trust, strengthening relationships, developing insight and practical skills, and creating meaningful change that carries beyond the therapy room. We work together to identify strengths, explore different ways of responding to challenges, and find strategies that can be incorporated into everyday life. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and I value the opportunity to work alongside clients and families as they navigate their experiences. My hope is that the work we do together will help create lasting changes in how you understand yourself, connect with others, and move through life's challenges.

Ahuva Blatter, LPCC's experience working with the Jewish community

I share an understanding of the culture, values, and community that are an important part of many of my clients' lives. I recognize that these aspects of life can shape our experiences, relationships, and the challenges we face. Sometimes, it makes a difference to work with someone who simply "gets it," allowing therapy to feel more comfortable, connected, and understood. Having that shared understanding can help clients feel more at ease bringing their experiences into the room without needing to explain every aspect of their background.

I believe that feeling understood is an important part of building a trusting therapeutic relationship. For many people, their community, values, and traditions are meaningful parts of who they are, and I want those parts of their lives to feel welcome in our work together. My goal is to create a space where clients feel comfortable showing up as themselves and exploring whatever they may be experiencing. When clients feel that their experiences are understood within the context of their lives and values, it can help create a stronger connection and a more meaningful therapeutic experience.
