💙 Warm 😃 Humorous 💡 Solution-oriented 🥇 EmpoweringWhy Menucha Banayan, LMHC chose to be in the helping profession
From a young age, I naturally found myself in the role of a listener. Friends and family would often turn to me for advice and support, drawn to my ability to create a safe space for their thoughts and feelings. I always felt a strong calling to help others, though I wasn’t exactly sure what that would look like in my life.
As I ventured into teaching, I initially thought that was my path. But as I engaged with my students, I realized my passion went beyond simply educating them. It was about connecting with them on a deeper, emotional level, addressing not just their academic needs but their personal struggles as well. I wanted to be a source of guidance, helping them navigate the complexities of life.
This revelation set me on my journey into the mental health field, where I truly find meaning and purpose. Being able to support others in their healing processes is incredibly fulfilling. I’ve come to understand that everyone has a story to tell, and sometimes all it takes is someone willing to listen. My commitment to this work is rooted in my desire to empower others to overcome their challenges and embrace their potential. Each interaction deepens my passion for helping others, reminding me why I chose this path in the first place.

Menucha Banayan, LMHC's experience working with the Jewish community
I’ve had the honor of working within the Jewish community for several years, a place that’s truly close to my heart. Growing up in the Panamanian Jewish Community and later moving to the States provided me with a unique perspective on the rich tapestry of cultural differences that exists within our community. This journey has deepened my understanding that, while we share a common heritage, each of us brings our own unique traditions, values, and perspectives to the table.
Throughout my experiences, I've come to realize that we all face individual challenges, particularly when it comes to family life and community dynamics. These challenges can be influenced by our backgrounds, beliefs, and the specific circumstances we find ourselves in. My work is grounded in cultural sensitivity and a deep respect for each individual’s story. I’m here to support you through your unique connections and experiences, acknowledging the complexities that arise from our diverse backgrounds.
By fostering an environment of understanding and acceptance, I aim to empower my clients to navigate their personal journeys with confidence. Whether it’s addressing family issues, exploring identity, or managing the pressures of community life, I am committed to walking alongside you as we work together toward healing and growth.
