Why Meira Gorlin chose to be in the helping profession

I became a health coach because I know firsthand how discouraging it can feel to sit in a rushed doctor’s appointment, walk out with more questions than answers, and still not get the support you need. For over a decade, I’ve been navigating my own health condition, and along the way, I learned that healing requires more than quick visits and one-size-fits-all advice.

To me, health coaching is about creating a space where you feel truly seen, where your challenges and your goals matter, and where you can start to connect the dots between how you want to feel and the small, meaningful choices you make each day. Together, we’ll build routines and strategies that feel doable and sustainable, so you can move toward a healthier, more vibrant life that reflects who you are and what you want for yourself.

Meira Gorlin's approach

My approach to health coaching is shaped by the three pillars of my education: psychology, business, and public health. From psychology, I bring empathy, curiosity about human motivation, and the ability to hold space where people feel safe, heard, and free from judgment. From business, I bring strategic and creative thinking, a focus on problem solving, and a knack for helping clients turn their strengths into real and lasting change. From public health, I bring the dual perspective of both coach and educator, tailoring guidance and support to meet the unique needs of each client in the moment.

While my work is grounded in structure and evidence-based methods, my style is anything but distant. I aim to show up more like a supportive friend or sister than a removed “wise mentor.” I meet people exactly where they are, with encouragement, practical tools, and honest connection. The process is about walking alongside you, celebrating progress, and helping you build a foundation that feels both empowering and sustainable. My goal is that you leave each session with the confidence and energy to keep moving toward the life you want to create.

What you can expect from sessions with Meira Gorlin

Our work together is centered on building habits that last and equipping you with tools to manage your health long after our sessions end. I view coaching as a springboard rather than a forever process. The goal is to give you structure, support, and momentum so you can continue forward with confidence on your own. That is why I offer packages ranging from six to ten sessions, designed to provide enough consistency to build new patterns while still leaving space for your own independence and growth.

Each session is tailored to you and begins with a check-in to see where you are that week. We set the agenda around what matters most to you, whether it is tackling a challenge, reinforcing a new routine, or exploring a mindset shift. Together, we reflect on what has worked and what hasn’t, adjust where needed, celebrate the progress you have made, and then set a clear and achievable goal for the week ahead. Over time, these small but intentional steps add up, creating sustainable changes that help you feel healthier, stronger, and more aligned with the life you want to live.

Meira Gorlin's experience working with the Jewish community

While I have worked with both Jewish and non-Jewish clients, I feel a unique sense of connection when working with Jewish clients because of the rhythms and experiences we naturally share. I understand how Shabbos and Yomtov shape not just spiritual life, but also daily routines, eating patterns, and overall well-being. I know what it is like to sit through long meals and try to avoid overeating, to navigate disrupted sleep schedules, and to choose a refreshing walk when the pull of the couch feels stronger. These moments may seem small, but they have a real impact on how we feel in our bodies and minds week after week.

I also understand the weight of holiday preparation and family expectations, whether it is the whirlwind of Pesach cleaning, the logistics of traveling to parents or in-laws, or the delicate balance of navigating family dynamics. These stresses can easily spill over into health and wellness, leaving people depleted rather than uplifted. My goal is to help clients find a healthier balance, where Jewish living feels not just spiritually meaningful but also nourishing for the body, mind, and soul. By weaving wellness into these traditions in a realistic and sustainable way, I support clients in aligning their health with the life they want to live.

Meira Gorlin's Book Recommendation Zone

  • High Performance Habits by Brendon Berchard
If you're ready to stop spinning your wheels and actually make meaningful progress in life and work, High Performance Habits by Brendon Burchard is a powerful and practical read. It’s based on research into what truly sets high performers apart — and the best part is, these habits are learnable. Burchard lays out six key habits: seek clarity about who you are and what you want, generate energy to stay mentally and physically sharp, raise necessity by connecting to a deeper purpose, increase productivity by focusing on what matters most, develop influence by inspiring and leading others, and demonstrate courage by taking bold, intentional action. This book isn’t just motivational - it’s a game plan for consistent, long-term success.
  • Atomic Habits by James Clear
If you’re trying to break bad habits or build better ones that actually stick, Atomic Habits by James Clear is a game-changer. Instead of relying on willpower or big, dramatic changes, Clear shows how small, consistent actions lead to massive results over time. The book breaks down the science of habit formation into four simple steps: make it obvious, make it attractive, make it easy, and make it satisfying. You’ll learn how to design your environment, shift your identity, and build systems that make good habits inevitable and bad ones harder to fall into. It’s a smart, practical guide to mastering the tiny changes that lead to lasting transformation.
  • Essentialism by Greg Mcowen
If you’re feeling stretched too thin or constantly busy but not actually productive, Essentialism by Greg McKeown is a must-read. It challenges the idea that we have to do everything and instead teaches us to do only what truly matters. McKeown’s core message is about the disciplined pursuit of less — saying no to the nonessential so you can say yes to what’s essential. The book guides you to clarify your priorities, eliminate distractions, make better decisions, and create space for deep, meaningful work. It’s not about getting more done — it’s about getting the right things done, and living with greater focus, freedom, and intention.

What my clients have to say about working with me:

  • "I've known Meira for six years in both personal and professional contexts, and she's consistently impressed me. She's smart, driven, and deeply committed to helping others. Meira takes feedback in stride, brings genuine warmth to her work, and would be an asset to anyone she works with."

  • "Working with Meira has been absolutely life-changing. When I started, I was struggling with consistency around exercise, had some bad habits around food, and dealt with some serious acid reflux. Meira changed all of that. She has a gift for making healthy routines feel approachable and sustainable, not restrictive or overwhelming. With her guidance, I’ve built a regular exercise habit I actually enjoy, cleaned up my eating in a way that feels natural (not forced), and, best of all, finally conquered the acid reflux that had been bothering me for years. Meira is encouraging, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive. She doesn’t just give quick fixes, she empowers you to make real, lasting change. I feel stronger, healthier, and more confident than I have in a long time. I can’t recommend her enough, if you’re looking for a coach who will truly transform your health and your mindset, Meira is the one."

  • "Meira has been so kind, honest, responsible, and attuned to my needs and goals. She helped me focus on areas such as health, movement, sleep, and mindfulness. In each area we created very practical goals and ways to achieve the goals. The best part of our work together was how easy the conversations were and how, even though the topics usually overwhelm me, I was able to organize everything with ease, smoothness, and enjoyment. Thank you so much !!"
