Why Leah Rabovsky, LCSW chose to be in the helping profession

I became a therapist because I’ve always been deeply curious about people, the humanity we all share, our struggles, our resilience, and the stories that shape us. That curiosity continues to guide my work and the way I show up in the therapy room. My approach is relational and trauma informed, grounded in safety, honesty, and genuine human connection. I’m not here to fix you or tell you who to be. I’m here to walk alongside you as you begin to feel freer, more grounded, and more at home in yourself.

I believe healing happens when pain is met with compassion instead of criticism, and therapy should feel like a place where that compassion can exist without conditions. You deserve a space where you feel seen, understood, and supported, without pressure to perform or have it all figured out. Together, we will explore what is happening beneath the surface and how past experiences may be shaping your present life, relationships, and emotional world. My hope is that through this work, you can build a deeper sense of self trust, clarity, and connection, both with yourself and with others.

Leah Rabovsky, LCSW's approach

My approach is flexible and personalized to each individual, because no two people or stories are the same. I offer a collaborative and open minded style of therapy where we discuss together which approaches feel most helpful and supportive for you. I believe you are an active participant in your healing, and our work is shaped by your goals, your pace, and what feels right for you. Therapy is not something done to you, but something we build together.

I draw from psychodynamic and attachment based therapy to better understand relational patterns and how early experiences continue to show up in the present. I also integrate Trauma Focused CBT, Internal Family Systems and parts work, along with somatic approaches that help bring awareness to the mind body connection. Many clients find parts work especially powerful in creating deep, lasting change, as it allows us to approach inner experiences with curiosity and compassion. My goal is to offer tools and insight that feel meaningful, practical, and supportive of real change in your life.

What you can expect from sessions with Leah Rabovsky, LCSW

As a relational therapist who prioritizes the therapeutic relationship, I work to create a space rooted in warmth, safety, and real connection. You do not have to edit yourself here or show up in any particular way. I believe healing happens when we stop performing and allow the messy, human parts of ourselves to be seen. Therapy can be a place where you can exhale and be honest about what you are carrying.

Together, we will explore your past, present, and future, with attention to what is happening beneath the surface. We will look at patterns, experiences, and emotions with curiosity rather than judgment. You can expect a compassionate and steady environment where you are not expected to figure everything out on your own. My hope is that through this process, you feel less alone and more supported as you move forward.

Leah Rabovsky, LCSW's experience working with the Jewish community

As an Orthodox Jew, I understand the unique cultural and emotional challenges that can exist within the Jewish community. I also recognize that beginning therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when stigma, fear of judgment, or communal expectations are part of the story. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in Frum schools and camps, which gave me firsthand insight into both the struggles and the resilience that live side by side in our community. That experience continues to shape the way I listen, support, and hold space for clients.

Whether you identify as Chassidish, Yeshivish, Modern Orthodox, Sephardic, secular, or unaffiliated, I offer a culturally sensitive and warm environment to explore your mental health and spiritual journey. If anxiety, trauma, or grief are showing up for you, or if you are watching your teen struggle and are unsure where to turn, you are not alone. I offer virtual therapy throughout New York and in person sessions in the Five Towns, along with a free 20 minute consultation so we can connect and see if working together feels like a good fit. It would be an honor to walk alongside you in this process.
