Why Leah Rabovsky, LMSW chose to be in the helping profession

As a natural empath with a deep curiosity about people, I’ve always been drawn to understanding the unique stories and experiences that each person carries. No two people are alike, and I find myself captivated by the depth and complexity that make us who we are. I believe that everyone deserves a space where they feel truly seen and valued, and I feel a genuine appreciation for the depth that people bring.

My commitment to this work comes from a sense of shared humanity that I hold close to my heart. It is humbling and inspiring to walk alongside others as they go through their journey of growth, healing, and change. Being part of that journey—supporting people in a way that respects their path and helps them feel understood—is a privilege . I want to create a space that honors each person’s story and fosters a genuine connection.

Leah Rabovsky, LMSW's approach

In our work together, I bring a trauma-informed and attachment-based approach, which means our sessions are grounded in sensitivity to your unique history and emotional needs. By focusing on understanding the roots of your experiences, we can gently uncover underlying patterns with compassion, setting the stage for genuine healing and growth. My approach is flexible and integrative, drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities, each chosen to foster lasting change.

One of the core methods I use is Internal Family Systems (IFS), valued for its compassionate framework, which supports self-understanding and self-compassion. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) also plays an important role, especially for managing anxiety, improving emotional regulation, and cultivating inner balance. For clients facing trauma or grief, I integrate trauma-focused therapies, including Trauma-Focused CBT, somatic practices, and psychoeducation, to promote healing and build resilience.

In addition, psychodynamic and attachment-based approaches allow us to explore early relational patterns and how they shape your present experiences, helping to build a foundation for healthier, more fulfilling connections. I also draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing, which can provide both immediate relief and long-term growth by helping you align with your values and identity.

I believe there is no “one-size-fits-all” in therapy. Together, we will craft a personalized plan that aligns with your unique needs and strengths, guiding you toward a path of healing that truly resonates with you.

Leah Rabovsky, LMSW's experience working with the Jewish community

Before becoming a therapist, I spent time working in various schools and camps within the Frum community, gaining much experience in the community. Now, as a therapist, my experience spans a range of Jewish affiliations and backgrounds, including Chassidic, Bukharin, and Orthodox, as well as Jews who identify as unaffiliated, Reform, and Conservative.

As an Orthodox Jew myself, I bring personal insight into the cultural nuances, challenges, and joys of living a religious life. I am committed to providing culturally sensitive care, with a deep respect for each individual’s unique relationship with faith. While I am familiar with traditional practices, I approach all religious differences with openness and without judgment. I understand that faith and identity are often deeply interconnected and can play a significant role in one’s mental health.

In my practice, I strive to create a space where people feel understood, regardless of their level of observance or religious affiliation. For me, it is always about supporting the person as they are, with respect for their beliefs and journey.
