I chose to enter the helping profession because I truly want to make a difference in people’s lives. I believe that when people are given the right information, support, and guidance, it can literally change their lives for the better. Nutrition plays such a powerful role in so much of our body’s physiology, and the more I studied and experienced firsthand, the more passionate I became about sharing that knowledge with others. I have seen how proper nutrition can improve not only a person’s energy and overall wellbeing, but also their quality of life in a deep and lasting way.
What inspires me most is knowing that even small changes can have a meaningful impact. As I was once told by a very special Rabbi, each person is considered a whole world. That idea has stayed with me throughout this journey and continues to shape the way I approach helping others. If we can find even one way to help a person feel healthier, stronger, more energized, or more hopeful, it is like helping an entire world. That is what I strive to do through the lens and path I have been shown, and it is truly a privilege to be part of someone’s journey toward better health and wellbeing.
Jennifer Grove-Sobol, MS, CD-N, CFNC's approach
My approach to nutritional counseling is to look at each client as their own individual, with their own goals, health concerns, and food preferences. I work hard to help clients find the right diet or way of eating that feels realistic and supportive for them personally. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, because every person’s body and situation is different. My goal is to help clients make changes that are practical, sustainable, and aligned with what they are trying to achieve.
I also focus on offering empowerment and motivation so clients can feel encouraged to make positive changes. One thing that can be especially helpful is nutrition education. I enjoy explaining, in layman’s terms, how foods and nutrients work in the body and how they relate to each person’s specific health concerns and goals. I believe that when people better understand what is happening in their bodies, they often feel more motivated and confident in making healthier choices.
What you can expect from sessions with Jennifer Grove-Sobol, MS, CD-N, CFNC
In our sessions, you can expect a thorough and individualized approach. I will ask questions about your medical history, food preferences, digestive habits and concerns, sleep patterns, exercise, medications and supplements, as well as the foods and drinks you typically consume throughout the week. All of this information helps me better understand your overall health picture and allows me to tailor recommendations to your specific needs and goals. I believe that the more complete the picture is, the more effective and realistic the nutrition plan can be.
I also provide guidance on nutrients that may be beneficial, appropriate supplements, and how and when to take them, such as with or without food. When available, I review lab results and use them to help guide your nutritional “prescription” and recommendations. Most importantly, we work together to create a meal plan that includes foods you enjoy while still supporting your health needs. My goal is to help you build an approach to eating that feels practical, supportive, and sustainable for everyday life.
Jennifer Grove-Sobol, MS, CD-N, CFNC's experience working with the Jewish community
I have more than 20 years of experience working within the Jewish community and have worked with individuals from Chassidish, Modern Orthodox, and Yeshivish backgrounds. This experience has given me an understanding of the different lifestyles, values, family dynamics, and food practices within these communities, allowing me to offer guidance that is both practical and respectful of each client’s individual needs and way of life.
