Why Yocheved Jacobsohn, LMHC chose to be in the helping profession

Since I was young, I found myself in the role of listener and helper. Watching people facing challenges throughout my life, I felt a strong pull to learn the best way to help and support them. I went on to study psychology throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies and feel privileged to listen to people’s innermost thoughts, feelings, fears, and hopes. Through my experiences of working in schools, agencies, and private practice I have come to work with people from all different walks of life and my appreciation for this field has never stopped growing.

Yocheved Jacobsohn, LMHC's approach

I specialize in helping women that struggle with anxiety, utilizing a personalized approach based of understanding each person's unique experience. I guide clients through an exploration of their triggers, untangling the complexities that contribute to their anxiety, and identifying the root causes.

In addition to my expertise in anxiety treatment, I also specialize in helping parents regain confidence in their parenting role and nurture an understanding of themselves and their children. By offering support and practical guidance, I empower parents to navigate the challenges of parenthood with renewed clarity and confidence.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) serves as the foundational pillar of my therapeutic approach, providing clients with problem-solving skills and insights into the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. At the same time, I also draw upon a diverse array of therapeutic modalities, such as Gestalt, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This integration allows me to tailor treatment strategies to the unique needs of each client, ensuring a personalized therapeutic journey for every client.
