The Whole Self Healing Circle's Purpose or Mission

For over a decade as a therapist, I’ve had the honor of helping people heal from the lasting impact of relational trauma. During that time, I began to notice something that stayed with me. Traditional weekly therapy wasn’t always enough. Some people needed more time and space to fully process what was coming up. Others were searching for something more affordable. And many longed for a deeper sense of community, a place where they could feel safe, supported, understood, and not so alone in their healing journey.

I found myself wanting to meet all of those needs at once. I wanted to create something that could offer depth without overwhelm, connection without pressure, and meaningful healing without placing a heavy financial burden on someone who was already carrying so much. The Whole Self Healing Circle grew out of that desire. It is a structured, affordable, and deeply supportive experience that allows for extended trauma processing while nurturing genuine connection with others who are walking a similar path. It holds space for people who want to move beyond surviving and begin truly reclaiming themselves.

When you join the Whole Self Healing Circle, you step into a 9-week intensive group program focused on overcoming limiting beliefs and addressing unresolved trauma in a way that feels grounded, compassionate, and transformative. The structure blends the depth of an experiential retreat with the steady rhythm of a processing group, giving you the opportunity to go further than typical weekly work allows. Using a powerful combination of Pia Mellody's inner child work, IFS, Sandtray, and ACT, the program offers weekly four and a half-hour sessions filled with intensive processing, practical tools, transformational insights, and support to integrate everything into daily life. Throughout the experience, you are held by a small, intimate group of people who share your desire to heal, grow, and become the person you want to be, with guidance every step of the way.

The Whole Self Healing Circle is designed for

This program is best suited for people who have already done therapy that includes experiential work, have an individual therapist they feel supported by, and are genuinely ready for an intensive healing process. It is meant for those who feel motivated to be active participants in their own change, and who understand that transformation often requires courage, presence, and a willingness to lean in. It also works well for people who can be a positive asset to a group environment. This means being able to get along with others, hold shared information with care and confidentiality, and have the emotional capacity to listen to others process without becoming overwhelmed.

We take great care in matching groups so that participants are at similar stages of healing and can truly support each other’s growth. This kind of alignment allows the group to feel cohesive, steady, and safe, which in turn creates a more meaningful and transformative experience for everyone involved.

Men and women will be grouped separately to honor comfort and safety. The men’s group will be facilitated by a male therapist so that participants can feel fully supported and understood within their specific healing process.

Jewish Community Experience

I am a passionate and dedicated Klal person, and my work in the community began long before I ever trained as a therapist. It started with a moving tehillim chain call that stirred something deep inside me and pushed me to initiate a grassroots Machsom L’fi project. That early effort eventually opened the door to my 15-year position with The Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation. As the Program Director of Mishmeres, I had the privilege of creating programs that helped teachers, students, and mothers cultivate ahavas Yisroel and a clearer recognition of their own dignity and the dignity of those around them. I also co-created a curriculum focused on verbal and emotional abuse, highlighting the Torah’s emphasis on sensitivity, human worth, and the responsibility we have to uplift and honor one another.

When I transitioned into my work as a therapist, I carried those same values with me. Supporting individuals as they navigate personal struggles, rediscover their strengths, and reconnect with their sense of preciousness has felt like a natural extension of everything that shaped me. My deep appreciation for the inherent value of every human being continues to guide and inspire me in every session. It is the foundation of how I listen, how I show up, and how I help others reconnect with the parts of themselves that deserve compassion, healing, and respect.

What our clients have to say about working with us:

  • Bassie consistently demonstrated remarkable professionalism, empathy, and expertise; all of which greatly supported my mental health goals. She showed great skill and most of all sincerity during our work together. Her ability to create a safe and non-judgmental space made me feel comfortable discussing even the most challenging aspects of my life. Bassie had a profoundly positive impact on my well-being and growth. She was not the first therapist I worked with in my mental health journey, and she was by far the most effective.

  • Mrs. Gugenheim is truly one of a kind in the field of social work. Not only is she an exceptionally perceptive therapist—often noticing subtle details that others might overlook—but she also demonstrates a remarkable level of genuine, heartfelt care for her clients. Her authenticity sets her apart as a rare presence in her profession. Time and again, she has gone above and beyond, dedicating her time and energy to support those she serves.

  • When I started with Bassie, I had been living for many years with feelings of pain from traumatic experiences as a child. Bassie had a keen ability to work with me with compassion, and direct focus on what I needed to heal… She helped me discover how my experiences had shaped my beliefs and my relationships. I gained insight into choices I had made and into identifying relationships that were healthy or harmful to me… and was able to navigate difficult challenges, and make decisions to lead a more positive life…. I felt like a new person, but am actually the same person, yet more capable of being myself and to lead and live the life I wanted to live.

  • I was referred to Bassie with no clear goal, just a realization that I needed help. With professionalism and warmth she guided me through my journey and gave me the security of knowing that there's someone there for me. With patience and understanding, through every session, every step, and every fall, she gave me the tools and guidance that were very effective. Bassie gave me the gift of finding the me who I wanted to be. I now have a great amount of knowledge of how to be in touch with my emotions and how to continue to face my everyday life challenges. I'll forever be grateful.

  • Working with Bassie has been an exceptional experience. She is soft-spoken, warm, and deeply caring, but at the same time incredibly experienced and perceptive. One of the things that impressed me most is how quickly she’s able to understand a situation—its background, its dynamics, and what’s really going on beneath the surface. Her insight is fast, accurate, and delivered with a gentle, steady presence that immediately puts you at ease. I’m truly grateful for everything she’s helped me understand and work through.
