Why Shlomo Bogart, LPC, LMHC chose to be in the helping profession

I chose to become a therapist because I genuinely care about helping others and bringing light and clarity to their lives. This has always felt like a natural part of who I am, and it is something I actively work on in my own growth as well. Therapy gives me a way to show up for people in moments that matter, to slow things down, and to help them make sense of what feels confusing or heavy. There is something deeply meaningful about sitting with someone as they discover new strength, understanding, or direction within themselves.

Being a therapist allows me to spend my days doing work that feels both intuitive and purposeful. I feel grateful to be able to create a space where clients can express themselves honestly and feel heard without judgment. My hope is to help people feel more grounded and more connected to their own inner clarity. This work continues to inspire me, and I strive to bring that sense of care and dedication into every session.

Shlomo Bogart, LPC, LMHC's approach

My approach to therapy is to begin right where each client feels stuck and gently guide them toward greater clarity, compassion, and confidence. I try to understand what feels confusing or heavy for them and help them move toward a place that feels lighter and more manageable. I integrate tools from CBT, DBT, and IFS in a natural and supportive way so clients can connect with their deeper self and their most authentic desires. The goal is to help them understand what is happening inside, rather than just pushing through or avoiding the pain.

I also believe that therapy should not feel limited to the hour we spend together. I encourage ongoing connection between sessions through text or email, so the clarity and support gained in therapy continue throughout the week. This helps clients feel more grounded and less alone when challenges come up in real time. Over time, this steady support helps them build trust in themselves and in the process, allowing for deeper healing and lasting change.

What you can expect from sessions with Shlomo Bogart, LPC, LMHC

You can expect to feel genuinely cared for and supported when you come into therapy with me. I work hard to create a space where you feel safe enough to share what is really going on, without pressure or judgment. My hope is that you experience our time together as steady, warm, and attuned to your needs. I want you to feel that someone is truly present with you as you sort through the parts of life that feel confusing or overwhelming.

My goal is that you leave each session feeling heard, understood, and a little clearer about your path forward. Even small moments of insight can shift how you move through the week, especially when paired with growing confidence that things can and will work out. Over time, I hope you begin to trust not only the process, but also yourself, as you gain a deeper sense of direction and strength.

Shlomo Bogart, LPC, LMHC's experience working with the Jewish community

I began my career as a teacher and mentor in a boys’ high school yeshiva, a role I held for eight years and found incredibly meaningful. After that, I transitioned to teaching Judaic studies in a girls’ yeshiva high school, where I continued to develop a deeper understanding of the challenges young people face and how much guidance and support can affect their growth. These years in chinuch shaped my approach to relationships, communication, and emotional presence in ways that still influence my work every day.

After earning my degree in mental health counseling, I spent four years working at a secular eating disorder clinic, where I gained extensive experience in recovery work and learned how to support clients through highly sensitive and complex struggles. For the past three years, my focus has been primarily on serving Jewish clients, which has been both meaningful and rewarding. I also co-founded The B’Shalom Center, a nonprofit dedicated to providing quality, culturally sensitive mental health care to the frum community. This work reflects my commitment to meeting people where they are and offering support that is both clinically sound and deeply respectful of their world.

What people have to say about working with me:

  • I struggled with Anorexia and alcohol dependence for 31 years. I was in and out of treatment centers and rehabs, never able to find lasting recovery. After working with Shlomo for two years, I've reached a place I never thought was possible. I have been sober for almost two years, i got remarried and have a baby. I've also been able to maintain a healthy co-parenting relationship with my ex. My life feels stable, hopeful and full in a way I couldn't imagine before.

  • When our daughter first began showing anorexic behaviors, my wife and I were overwhelmed and confused. We didn’t know who to turn to or where to begin. We weren’t sure if she needed to be sent to a program or if this was something we could support her through at home. The idea of outpatient treatment felt intimidating and unfamiliar. We feel incredibly fortunate to have connected with Shlomo and his team. They provided us with guidance, clarity, and a concrete treatment plan. Most importantly, our daughter felt understood and comfortable working with Shlomo over Zoom. Today, Baruch Hashem, she is in recovery and doing really well.

  • Shlomo is the kindest, safest, and most attentive therapist. He is very perceptive of people's personalities and uses this skill to deeply empower them. He is very patient and willing to work with eating disorders, and has persisted where others have given up.
