Why Sharonne Cohen chose to be in the helping profession

Over the years, I have become increasingly drawn to the intricate connection between the body, mind, and spirit. This deep curiosity, combined with my own experience of a challenging burnout and the physical and emotional struggles that came with it, guided me toward my path as a wellness facilitator. My personal healing journey became a source of inspiration, motivating me to dedicate myself to helping others navigate their challenges, find balance, and truly thrive. It has shown me the profound impact that holistic care and self-awareness can have on overall well-being.

The combination of my unique training, skills, and background in healing and martial arts allows me to offer a distinct, individualized approach for each client. I strive to empower those I work with to take an active role in their own journey toward health, balance, and joy. Witnessing this transformation and growth is one of the greatest blessings of my life and continually reinforces my commitment to this work. Every session is an opportunity to support and inspire meaningful change, and I feel honored to walk alongside my clients as they discover their own paths to wellness.

Sharonne Cohen's approach

My deepest desire is to empower people to experience real transformation, making meaningful and lasting change in the areas of life they wish to improve. This might include strengthening and deepening relationships, finding true fulfillment and purpose in work and family, or tapping into their natural creativity and joy. Through the many aspects of my practice, my goal is to guide each person back to their natural state of health, vitality, and alignment with their inner wisdom. Transformation, in this sense, is not just change—it is a return to the wholeness and potential that already exists within each of us.

As the Ba'al Shem Tov taught, “In the place where a person’s thought is, there he is. All of him is there.” Diane Connely, a teacher of Chinese medicine, reminds us that “All sickness is homesickness. All healing is homecoming.” At the heart of my transformational coaching is the understanding that much of our physical and emotional pain comes from a separation from our true selves, from our intuition, or from the Higher Source of comfort and guidance. Healing, then, is a process of coming home—to our innate wisdom, health, joy, and connection to Divine energy. It begins and lives in the mind.

My holistic approach considers every part of a person—mind, body, and soul. I integrate techniques drawn from Jewish sources alongside tools such as meditation, breathwork, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), energy medicine, writing, and self-healing movement, which primarily consists of individualized Qi Gong exercises. I also offer nutritional guidance inspired by Chinese medicine, which aligns in surprising ways with the teachings of Maimonides. Each element of my practice is designed to support a person’s unique journey, helping them reconnect with their natural state of vitality and empowerment.

Qi Gong is an ancient system of energy medicine and self-healing that regulates and balances the flow of vital energy through the body, mind, and spirit.

What you can expect from sessions with Sharonne Cohen

My coaching practice is grounded in deep listening and presence, honoring the unique goals and needs of each client. Every journey is individualized, and no two sessions are ever the same. Some sessions may focus on conversation and reflection, while others explore specific techniques or exercises, always tailored to support your personal process and growth.

Each session is designed with your uniqueness in mind. You might learn to breathe in ways that regulate your nervous system and support overall health, including digestion and mood, or to move your body in ways that promote vitality. You may explore nutritional adjustments, journaling practices, small shifts in sleep or eating habits, or practice Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) with a co-created, individualized script. Many clients leave with reflections, exercises, or tools to integrate between sessions, helping the work continue and deepen in daily life.

Sharonne Cohen's experience working with the Jewish community

Born and raised in Jerusalem, I now live in the diaspora and offer my services to anyone drawn to my work. I find it particularly meaningful to work with clients in the Jewish community, where there is often an innate, unspoken understanding from the very beginning. This shared resonance can create a smoother journey and often supports positive, lasting outcomes. Beyond individual sessions, I am involved in the wider Jewish community, offering post-October 7th support workshops in both Israel and the diaspora, contributing to grief and end-of-life support programs, and participating in other initiatives aimed at fostering healing and growth.

With a robust spiritual life, I strive to guide those seeking a deeper connection to their spirituality, which can take many forms—from Hitbodedut in nature to mindfulness and meditation. I have found that a grounded, energized body, an uplifted and connected spirit, and a calm mind all contribute to a balanced, joyful, and fulfilling life. This is a life in which the body and mind are healthy, and the spirit feels nourished and meaningful.

Caring for our physical, emotional, and mental wellness is not a modern concept—it is deeply rooted in our Jewish sources. Working with Jewish clients allows me to weave the wisdom I have gathered along my path into every session, offering guidance that is accessible, practical, and sustainable. After attending a four-day Jewish meditation and elevation retreat with Rav Donial Katz, I became even more inspired to serve members of the Jewish community who are eager for growth and expansion. I highly recommend exploring Rav Katz’s work at elevationproject.com for those interested in deepening their own spiritual practice.

What people have to say about working with me:

  • ''I wanted to share a few words about my journey with Sharonne. When I met Sharonne, I was in rough shape – emotionally, financially and socially. . . That period was very hard for me; I couldn’t see the potential for change, couldn’t find my inner peace. Sharonne gave me “homework” that helped me transform myself from the inside. I was ready for change. I am now a completely different person. I’ve made a 180° turn in all aspects of my life. . . I know I can change things. I recommend working with Sharonne wholeheartedly! It’s so worth it.''

  • ''Although I initially went to see Sharonne for her unique ability to heal a physical injury in 2-3 sessions, I found myself opting for her coaching sessions, where I discussed issues & goals, gaining tools and valuable insights. Sharonne helped me through a difficult loss, relieving a bottleneck of pain. . . The life coaching sessions and discussions helped me cope with a difficult resulting dynamic. Her compassion & intuition, combined with her intellect & broad knowledge, are an incredible resource. Coach, you are special and have your magic ways beyond the therapy.''

  • ''Since our session, the seed you planted has begun to sprout; I remember to love myself and my body more, and try not to put off my body’s needs — to drink when I’m thirsty, to sleep more. You’ve helped me change my dialogue with myself. Our encounter really seeped into my wandering heart and my tired body. You’ve reminded me of some important things, and have taught me to love myself in ways I didn’t know.''

  • "I've known Sharonne Cohen for roughly 12 years. I first met her in a high level Chi Gong workshop here in Montreal, where she assisted the sensei, Paul Fraser, and the beginner students like myself. From there, I became familiar with her as a Tai chi instructor. As I got to know her better, I discovered her skills as a holistic therapist, specializing in body and energy work inspired by her knowledge of Chinese medicine. She treated and counselled me on a number of occasions over the years..I've also trained Sharonne and acted as her coach and mentor in Non Violent Communication. Sharonne fully committed to her clients and to offering them the highest quality of service. She's well prepared, conscientious, punctual and reliable.Sharonne is mindful of clients' needs above all, and maintains a good balance between offering counsel and allowing the person to make his or her own informed choices. Her ethical standards are high. As her coach and mentor, I've often been impressed with her openness to receiving constructive criticism and her eagerness to learn and improve."
