Why Rochel Grossman, LMSW chose to be in the helping profession

I was drawn to the helping profession because I have always been deeply curious about people’s inner worlds—how our experiences shape us, how we carry pain, and how healing becomes possible. Over the years, I’ve come to recognize the profound impact of relational wounds, the moments when people feel unseen, unsafe, misunderstood, or alone. These experiences often leave lasting impressions, influencing how we view ourselves, how we trust others, and how we navigate our relationships and the world around us.

Therapy creates a space where these experiences can finally be explored with care, understanding, and compassion. I feel privileged to walk alongside people as they begin to uncover deeper truths about themselves, reconnect with parts of themselves that may have been pushed aside, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and whole. Witnessing that growth, self-acceptance, and renewed connection is why I am so passionate about this work. Every step toward understanding and healing is meaningful, and it is an honor to support people on that journey.

Rochel Grossman, LMSW's approach

In my work, I focus on understanding the many different aspects of yourself that develop over time. People often come to therapy feeling frustrated by their reactions, overwhelmed by intense emotions, or puzzled by recurring patterns in their relationships. What we often discover together is that different parts of ourselves learned to cope with difficult experiences in different ways. Some parts may carry shame, fear, or sadness, while others work hard to protect you—staying in control, avoiding certain feelings, or taking care of everyone else.

Rather than pushing these experiences away, we slow down to explore what they have been holding and what they were trying to protect you from. When these parts begin to feel seen and understood, meaningful shifts can happen inside. Much of my work centers on relational trauma, the ways painful experiences in relationships shape how we view ourselves and others. Therapy becomes a safe and compassionate space to examine these patterns without judgment. My role is to help you understand what is happening within, so that the parts of you carrying heavy burdens for so long no longer have to do it alone.

What you can expect from sessions with Rochel Grossman, LMSW

Sessions are a space where you can slow down, reflect, and explore what is happening in your life without judgment. I strive to create an environment where you feel truly heard, respected, and supported, so that you can engage with your experiences safely and openly. Together, we will examine the experiences, emotions, and patterns that may be shaping the challenges you are facing. Some moments may involve deep reflection and insight, while others will focus on practical ways to navigate difficult emotions or situations.

My role is not to tell you who you should be, but to help you better understand yourself and the inner dynamics that influence your choices. By gaining clarity and insight, you can begin to make decisions that feel authentic, meaningful, and aligned with who you truly are. Therapy becomes a space to reconnect with yourself, uncover your strengths, and approach life with greater awareness, intention, and self-compassion.

Rochel Grossman, LMSW's experience working with the Jewish community

I have experience working with individuals and families within the Jewish community and understand how cultural values, religious life, and family structures can shape people’s experiences. Navigating personal challenges while balancing family expectations, community dynamics, and individual identity can sometimes feel complex and overwhelming. I approach this work with cultural sensitivity, curiosity, and respect for each person’s unique relationship to their traditions and community.

My goal is to create a space where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences while honoring the values and aspects of Jewish life that are meaningful to them. Together, we work toward understanding the ways these cultural and familial influences intersect with personal growth, relationships, and emotional well-being. I aim to support clients in finding clarity, self-acceptance, and practical ways to navigate life in a way that feels authentic and true to who they are.
