Why Esti Marcus chose to be in the helping profession

Whether you have experienced the agony of a significant trauma or the hidden devastation of prolonged emotional trauma, these experiences can lead to fractures in a person's sense of self, adaptive capacity and inner cohesion, often resulting in anxiety, depression, somatic disorders, self-esteem difficulties and interpersonal struggles.

Esti Marcus's approach

I use a blend of different perspectives with empathy and understanding. I aim to foster a supportive therapeutic relationship and create a holding space to process painful experiences, deepen insight into thoughts and feelings, and build connections with the felt sense in the body.
I have an integrative approach looking to use the "here-and-now" to access the "there-and-then" & utilize attachment-based modalities like AEDP, IFS, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I received trauma training from the National Institute for Psychotherapies' Integrative Trauma Program as well as post graduate training in Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experience and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.

What you can expect from sessions with Esti Marcus

My perspective mirrors Alice Miller's, The Drama of the Gifted Child. "The true opposite of depression is neither gaiety nor absence of pain, but vitality-the freedom to experience spontaneous feelings...not only happy, beautiful, or good but the entire range of human experience, including envy, jealousy, rage, disgust, greed, despair, and grief." I aim to help the client tap into their natural inclination toward healing, foster the body's innate resiliency & transform the individual's inherent capacity for survival into vitality.
