Why Esti Marcus, LCSW chose to be in the helping profession

Whether someone has endured significant trauma or silently suffered from prolonged emotional distress, I recognize the deep scars it can leave on their sense of self, resilience, and inner harmony. The aftermath often surfaces as anxiety, depression, somatic disorders, self-esteem challenges, and difficulties in interpersonal relationships.

Witnessing these struggles ignited a strong desire within me to make a difference and offer support to those in need. As a therapist, I have the privilege of providing solace and guidance to individuals navigating their emotional journeys. I value the importance of listening, empathizing, and extending a helping hand to those who are burdened by these challenges.

I am continuously humbled and inspired by the resilience of the human spirit. It is an honor to witness individuals rediscover their strength, reclaim their sense of self-worth, and rebuild their relationships. While the journey toward healing and personal growth is not always easy, I am dedicated to accompanying individuals on this path. It is my utmost privilege to empower them to overcome their challenges, discover their inner strength, and cultivate a greater sense of well-being. With compassion, knowledge, and a commitment to ongoing growth, I aim to provide meaningful support to those in need, helping them find their way toward healing, resilience, and a brighter future.

Esti Marcus, LCSW's approach

With a blend of different therapeutic perspectives, I provide a compassionate and understanding space to support your healing journey. Together, we will explore and process painful experiences, gain deeper insights into your thoughts and emotions, and forge connections with the wisdom held within your body.

Drawing from an integrative approach, I employ the power of the present moment, the "here and now" to access and address past wounds, the "there-and-then". By integrating attachment-based modalities such as AEDP, IFS, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, I offer a holistic therapeutic experience. My expertise stems from extensive training in trauma, including the renowned Integrative Trauma Program by the National Institute for Psychotherapies. Additionally, I have pursued post-graduate education in Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experience, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.

What you can expect from sessions with Esti Marcus, LCSW

In line with Alice Miller's perspective as expressed in "The Drama of the Gifted Child," I believe that true vitality arises from embracing the full spectrum of human experiences. The antidote to depression is not mere gaiety or the absence of pain but rather the freedom to express spontaneous emotions. Together, we will explore the vast array of emotions, including happiness, beauty, goodness, envy, jealousy, rage, disgust, greed, despair, and grief. My aim is to help you tap into your natural inclination for healing, nourish your body's innate resilience, and transform your innate survival capacity into a wellspring of vitality.
