Why Benson Fox, Life Coach chose to be in the helping profession

I joined the helping profession because I want to pass on the tools and skills for healing that have been valuable in my own life. I worked hard to create a map of growth and healthiness for myself and want to share it with others. My goal is to be a source of support and light for others, especially during challenging, lonely times. Once we get through the hot moment together, I help them break through obstacles to their goals and take their lives to the next level. With the assistance of God, I aim to be the kind of person I needed when I was younger, offering encouragement, understanding, and hope. I focus on helping people uncover their authentic selves and realize their potential. With the assistance of God, I hope to continue being an effective giver rather than a taker.

As a life and dating coach, I employ a highly individualized, holistic, and solution-focused method, incorporating a unique blend of out-of-the-box techniques. Throughout our sessions, I strike a balance between sensitivity, validation, and support, coupled with authenticity, truth-telling, and direct, constructive guidance.

I firmly reject the idea of a one-size-fits-all approach since every individual is unique and at a specific point in their personal journey. Therefore, I customize my sessions to your unique needs. While maintaining professionalism, I step into each coaching session as my authentic self, infusing it with my personality, humor, perspectives, and interests. By doing so, I hope to build lasting, genuine relationships, not hold you at a distance or hide behind my role as "the coach." Although it's bittersweet when our time together concludes, I communicate openly about the right time to end our sessions, which is when we have reached our goals.

My trust in intuition is unwavering, so even when it occasionally leads me or you astray, I tap into it for self-reflection and course correction. I assist my clients in cultivating self-trust and accessing their own intuition. My approach goes beyond helping clients release their pain; it involves embracing and leveraging it for positive transformation. I believe that every aspect of a person has a meaningful, positive place, even the parts that many repress or deny, such as anger, shame, and fear. Ultimately, my clients attain higher levels of confidence, joy, and self-love in their lives, along with a plethora of positive side effects like improved communication, self-awareness, and balance.

Benson Fox, Life Coach's experience working with the Jewish community

I have robust exposure to secular contexts, specifically 1000’s of hours of valuable, supervised counseling experience at the Brooklyn College Personal Counseling Center, James A. Dever Elementary School, Lynbrook High School, the Crisis Text Line and George W. Hewlett High School. These experiences have empowered me to connect and learn from individuals from various backgrounds and beliefs.

Primarily, my identity is shaped as an Orthodox Jew. My background is in yeshivas, growing up in an Orthodox Jewish home and integrated with the Five Towns Jewish community. Also, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Talmudic Law (BTL), invested four years in Torah study in Israel and currently in the process of achieving Semicha, an Orthodox Rabbinic Certification. My deep connection to my heritage and faith allows me to validate the idiosyncratic experiences in ways that outsiders would be challenged to and shapes my perspective of life and the coach-coachee dynamic. For example, I take pride in integrating spiritual and religious insights into my life coaching, always ensuring alignment with the values, goals, and beliefs of my clients.

My experience with the Jewish community includes working with Jewish crisis lines, contributing to Jewish organizations for individuals with special needs, and serving as a youth director for four years at the Beis Medrash of Harborview. This diverse background enriches my ability to connect with individuals within the Orthodox Jewish community and tailor my approach to their specific needs and cultural contexts. Also, these experiences lend me a profound understanding of more religiously-minded individuals.
