Why Eli Weinreb, LCSW chose to be in the helping profession

I chose to enter the field of therapy because I am deeply passionate about helping individuals and families move beyond “all or nothing” thinking and make space for the nuanced gray areas of life. So many people feel lost, stuck, or unsure of what their next step should be, and I see my role as walking alongside them as a steady guide through that uncertainty. I believe that meaningful change begins when people feel understood and supported rather than judged. My goal is to create a space where clients can slow down, reflect honestly, and begin to see new possibilities for themselves.

I work to normalize the very real struggles that come with being human, reframing them not as failures but as important opportunities for growth and self-discovery. By equipping clients with practical skills and tools, I help them build the confidence to face challenges with greater clarity and resilience. I believe that even the most difficult experiences can become sources of strength when approached with compassion and intention. Ultimately, I chose this path to empower others to move forward in a way that feels sustainable, grounded, and aligned with who they truly are.

Eli Weinreb, LCSW's approach

I provide a client-centered therapeutic experience by integrating evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to meet each person’s unique needs and goals. My approach is rooted in compassion and care, with a strong focus on helping clients feel deeply supported as they navigate their personal journey. I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative, practical, and tailored to the individual rather than a one-size-fits-all process. Above all, I aim to create a space where clients feel safe enough to be honest, curious, and open to change.

My primary goal is to empower clients to reach their self-defined objectives by serving as a dedicated guide and assistant throughout the process. I intentionally balance a straightforward communication style with genuine empathy, creating an environment that encourages both clarity and emotional safety. By modeling a healthy, respectful dynamic in our work together, I help clients strengthen the relational skills and confidence they can carry into their everyday lives. Over time, my hope is that clients leave therapy feeling more capable, more grounded, and better equipped to thrive outside the therapy room.

What you can expect from sessions with Eli Weinreb, LCSW

In our sessions, you can expect a warm and supportive environment where your personal goals remain at the center of the work we do together. I want therapy to feel like a space where you are heard, understood, and encouraged to explore your experiences openly and honestly. While I offer care and compassion throughout the process, I also provide gentle accountability to help you stay aligned with the growth and change you want to see both inside and outside the therapy room. My intention is to create a balance that feels supportive while still helping you move forward in meaningful ways.

Our work together is a true partnership, grounded in active, back-and-forth communication rather than a one-sided dialogue. I prioritize your autonomy, which means there is always room for feedback, reflection, and adjustments to the therapeutic techniques we use. As your needs and goals evolve, our approach can evolve alongside you, ensuring that the process remains personal, relevant, and collaborative. Ultimately, I want you to feel empowered in your own journey, knowing that therapy is shaped around who you are and where you want to go.

Eli Weinreb, LCSW's experience working with the Jewish community

Over the past eight years, I have worked as a clinical professional at two mental health clinics within the Jewish community, supporting individuals and families through a wide range of emotional and relational challenges. These experiences have allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the unique cultural values, strengths, and stressors that shape the lives of those I serve. I have had the privilege of walking alongside clients during vulnerable moments, helping them find stability, insight, and growth. This work continues to shape the way I approach therapy, with sensitivity to both individual needs and community context.

My experience also extends into the educational sphere, where I spent three years as a school social worker providing emotional and behavioral support to students across two Jewish schools. At CARE for Special Children, I furthered my commitment to inclusive care by delivering specialized interventions for individuals with special needs while also supporting their families. I have also dedicated two years as a volunteer at Our Place, a teen drop-in center focused on crisis intervention and mentorship, which deepened my dedication to youth advocacy and relationship-based support. Collectively, these roles have equipped me with a nuanced understanding of the diverse psychosocial needs within our community and have strengthened my commitment to providing thoughtful, culturally informed care.

  • Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb
This book is a memoir that follows therapist Lori Gottlieb as she navigates her own personal crisis while treating a diverse set of patients. It uniquely contrasts her role on both sides of the couch, revealing that therapists are humans with their own struggles, fears, and vulnerabilities
  • The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk
