Chaya Bukiet, LMFT's style
💙 Warm 👂 Listener 🧘 Calm 🤝 CollaborativeWhy Chaya Bukiet, LMFT chose to be in the helping profession
Throughout my life, I have found deep joy and fulfillment in being a supportive presence for those around me. As a natural listener and empathetic friend, I was drawn to the field of therapy as a way to formalize and expand upon skills that have always felt central to who I am. I have long been curious about people’s stories, their relationships, and the ways life experiences shape how we show up for ourselves and others. Becoming a therapist felt like a meaningful way to honor that curiosity while offering support in a thoughtful, grounded way.
The focus on relationships and systems in marriage and family therapy resonated deeply with me, as I believe our connections with others are a vital part of overall well-being. I view healing as something that happens not only within the individual, but also within the context of their relationships, environments, and lived experiences. It is a privilege to witness the resilience and strength of the human spirit as clients work through challenges and reconnect with their own inner resources. I am honored to be part of each client’s unique journey, offering support, presence, and care as they move toward growth, healing, and a deeper sense of self.
Chaya Bukiet, LMFT's approach
My approach to therapy is rooted in creating a safe and supportive space where meaningful change can happen. I draw on several therapeutic modalities to offer care that is thoughtful and personalized, with a strong emphasis on Emotionally Focused Therapy and attachment theory. I believe deeply in the transformative power of understanding and healing the emotional bonds that shape how we relate to ourselves and to others. Within this space, clients are encouraged to slow down, reflect, and explore their experiences with curiosity and compassion.
I also integrate parts work and Internal Family Systems to help clients connect with and better understand the different parts of themselves, including the parts that protect, the parts that carry pain, and the parts that are seeking healing and relief. With a psychodynamic foundation, we can explore past experiences and patterns to gain insight into present challenges and recurring themes. In sessions, I am an active and engaged participant, balancing empathy and validation with thoughtful observations and gentle feedback. Together, we work to deepen understanding, strengthen connection, and support lasting growth that feels authentic and sustainable.
What you can expect from sessions with Chaya Bukiet, LMFT
During our sessions, you can expect a safe and supportive space where you are encouraged to explore and navigate your inner world at your own pace. We will work together to uncover the patterns, experiences, and emotional themes that shape your thoughts, feelings, and relationships. This process is collaborative and grounded in curiosity, helping you gain insight while moving toward growth and healing in a way that feels steady and manageable.
For couples, our work focuses on strengthening emotional connection and creating a sense of safety within the relationship. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy, we identify negative interaction cycles and gently explore the underlying emotions and unmet needs that drive them. By slowing these patterns down, we can make space for new ways of responding to one another with clarity and compassion. This process supports deeper understanding, fosters emotional closeness, and helps build lasting intimacy and connection.
Chaya Bukiet, LMFT's experience working with the Jewish community
As a therapist, I have always felt a strong connection to the Jewish community, and it is important to me to offer mental health care that is both culturally sensitive and genuinely relevant. My Jewish background and upbringing have shaped how I understand identity, community, and the values that guide daily life. This perspective allows me to recognize the unique pressures, expectations, and strengths that Jewish individuals and families may carry. I strive to create a therapeutic space that feels familiar, respectful, and aligned with those lived experiences.
I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including a community clinic and with Ohel, where I provided therapy to Jewish adolescents. My work has included individuals and couples, both in one on one and group settings, and has consistently been grounded in care that aligns with Jewish values. I approach each client with thoughtfulness and respect for their personal and cultural context. It is truly an honor to support individuals and families within the Jewish community as they move toward healing, growth, and deeper connection.
