Throughout my life, I have found great joy and fulfillment in being a supportive presence for those around me. As a natural listener and empathetic friend, I was drawn to the field of therapy as a way to formalize and expand upon these skills. The focus on relationships and systems in marriage and family therapy resonated deeply with me, as I believe that our connections with others are a vital part of our overall well-being. It is a privilege to witness the resilience and strength of the human spirit as clients work through challenges and rediscover their own inner resources. I am honored to be a part of each client's unique journey and to support them in their growth and healing process.
Chaya Bukiet's approach
My approach to therapy is rooted in creating a safe and supportive space where meaningful change can happen. I draw on several therapeutic modalities to provide personalized care, with a strong emphasis on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment theory. I believe in the transformative power of understanding and healing the emotional bonds that shape our lives. Additionally, I integrate parts work and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients connect with and understand the different parts of themselvesāthose that protect, those that hurt, and those seeking healing. My psychodynamic foundation allows us to explore past experiences and patterns to gain insight into present challenges. In sessions, I am an active and engaged participant, balancing empathy and validation with thoughtful observations and feedback. Together, weāll work to deepen understanding, foster connection, and create lasting growth.
What you can expect from sessions with Chaya Bukiet
During our sessions, you can expect a safe and supportive space to explore and navigate your inner world. Weāll work together to uncover the patterns and experiences that shape your thoughts, emotions, and relationships, helping you move toward growth and healing.
For couples, our work will focus on strengthening your emotional connection. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), weāll identify negative interaction cycles and explore the underlying emotions and needs driving them. This process helps create a deeper bond, fosters understanding, and builds lasting intimacy in your relationship.
Chaya Bukiet's experience working with the Jewish community
As a therapist, I have always felt a strong connection to the Jewish community and it's important to me to provide mental health care that is culturally sensitive and relevant. My Jewish background and upbringing have given me a unique perspective that helps me understand the specific challenges that Jewish clients may face. I have had the opportunity to work in various settings, including a community clinic and with Ohel, where I provided therapy to Jewish adolescents. I have worked with individuals and couples, both in one-on-one and group settings, and always strive to provide therapy that aligns with Jewish values. It is an honor to be able to support individuals and families within the Jewish community on their journey towards healing and growth.
