Why Brooke English chose to be in the helping profession
Are you feeling overwhelmed with emotions and unsure of how to manage all of the feelings coming up? Perhaps you have lived through a difficult or traumatic childhood, relationship, or experience and feel burdened by the past. Maybe you’ve been told by people that you’re ‘just being sensitive’. You have been juggling everything on your own, in the best way you know how, and now are looking for more support.
I have over a decade of experience specializing in working with adults and adolescents who have experienced various forms of trauma. This may include having grown up in an abusive, volatile, or emotionally neglectful household, or having experienced sexual violence, or having been in an intimate partnership with toxic relationship patterns. Many of my clients are highly sensitive people who may be struggling in current relationships or in maintaining a successful relationship. I work with clients who experience daily worries or sadness, existential crises, or religious and spiritual concerns and questions.
My style is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and down-to-earth. I focus on building a genuine and secure relationship with you that allows you a sense of safety to be your full self. I am trained in traditional modalities such as psychodynamic theory, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Trauma. A cornerstone of my specialty is in implementing yogic theory and techniques for trauma treatment. I employ a holistic and integrative approach that allows us to tailor your treatment to your individual needs.
I approach you with deep honor and compassion for your experiences. My hope is that you leave our sessions feeling seen, heard, and with a greater sense of how to ride life’s waves.
I work via telehealth with clients in NY, NJ, CT, and FL.
