Shira Kalos, LMHC's style
💙 Warm 💡 Solution-oriented 🔥 Energetic 🙏 SpiritualWhy Shira Kalos, LMHC chose to be in the helping profession
I chose to work as a therapist for teens and young adults because this stage of life is full of transitions, questions, and pressures that shape identity, direction, and self-worth. I’m drawn to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where young people can feel heard, understood, and accepted exactly as they are. Many teens and young adults carry worries about fitting in, making the right choices, or living up to expectations, and I believe they deserve a place where those concerns can be spoken about openly without fear of judgment. My goal is to help each person feel less alone in what they are going through and more confident in their ability to face it.
Being able to walk alongside someone as they build insight, resilience, and confidence is deeply meaningful to me and motivates my commitment to this work. I value the process of getting to know each individual’s story, strengths, and struggles at their own pace. Therapy, to me, is about collaboration, honesty, and learning how to trust your own voice. I feel honored to support teens and young adults as they begin to understand themselves more fully and move toward the kind of life and relationships they want to create.
Shira Kalos, LMHC's approach
I take a supportive, client-centered approach, working closely with individuals to navigate challenges while fostering self-awareness, resilience, and personal growth. I aim to create a space where clients feel seen and heard, where their experiences are validated, and where they can explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment. By focusing on each person’s unique strengths and challenges, I help them build tools to face life’s difficulties with confidence and clarity. My work is grounded in collaboration, patience, and a genuine commitment to helping each client move forward at their own pace.
I also guide clients in their spiritual journey, encouraging them to turn to Hashem for guidance and to deepen their connection to their faith. Integrating spirituality with personal development allows clients to draw on a meaningful source of strength and perspective as they work through challenges. Together, we explore ways to bring faith into daily life, using it as a foundation for growth, healing, and self-understanding. Supporting this integration of faith and personal development is a central part of my approach and something I find deeply rewarding.
