I chose to enter the helping field because I have always been drawn to understanding people’s inner worlds and the complexities of human relationships. I am deeply moved by the ways early experiences shape who we become, and I am equally inspired by our capacity for growth, healing, and transformation. Over time, I have come to appreciate how even challenging experiences can reveal resilience and inner strength, and I find it meaningful to witness that process with others.
Becoming a therapist felt like a natural extension of my curiosity about emotional patterns, attachment, and the ways we navigate connection and vulnerability. I value creating a space where individuals feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood, a space that allows for reflection, exploration, and self-discovery. My goal is to support people as they work toward greater clarity, connection, and self-trust, helping them build a deeper sense of confidence in themselves and their relationships.
Sarah Greenberg, LCSW's approach
My approach to therapy is relational, attachment-focused, and insight-oriented. I work with clients to explore how early attachment experiences, formative relationships, and past relational wounds continue to shape emotional patterns, internal narratives, and the ways we relate to others. Understanding these connections often provides clarity and perspective, helping individuals recognize recurring dynamics and identify opportunities for growth.
I believe that meaningful change happens through both insight and lived emotional experience within a safe and attuned therapeutic relationship. My work draws on psychodynamic principles and trauma-informed care, honoring the ways unresolved or relational trauma can influence mood, self-concept, and connection. When appropriate, I incorporate EMDR to support the processing of trauma and to reduce the intensity of lingering emotional responses, allowing clients to engage more fully in the present and in their relationships.
What you can expect from sessions with Sarah Greenberg, LCSW
You can expect a thoughtful, engaged, and collaborative process focused on meaningful change. While we will spend time exploring how past attachment experiences and relational patterns influence your current emotional world, our work will go beyond insight alone. Together, we will identify patterns that no longer serve you and actively work toward shifting them in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.
This process may involve increasing emotional awareness, developing new relational skills, processing unresolved trauma, and cultivating healthier ways of relating both to yourself and to others. Change can feel uncomfortable at times, but it is often within that discomfort—supported by a safe and consistent therapeutic relationship—that real transformation occurs. When clinically appropriate, I integrate EMDR to help reduce the intensity of unresolved experiences, making growth more accessible, manageable, and lasting.
Sarah Greenberg, LCSW's experience working with the Jewish community
I have extensive experience working within the Jewish community across educational, clinical, and supportive roles. In Jewish high schools, I served as a mentor, supporting students as they navigated academic, emotional, and relational challenges within a culturally grounded environment. I also interned at Bikur Cholim of Boro Park (Family Services), providing in-home support to individuals and families facing both medical and emotional stressors.
In addition, I have worked in several Jewish outpatient clinics, where I provided psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and held administrative leadership roles. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the cultural, religious, and communal dynamics that shape the lives of many of the clients and families I serve. This background allows me to approach therapy with sensitivity and insight, honoring the unique values, traditions, and experiences that are important within the Jewish community.
