Ron Shpindler, LMSW's style
💙 Warm 👂 Listener 🌎 Holistic 🙏 SpiritualWhy Ron Shpindler, LMSW chose to be in the helping profession
After many years working in the music industry, I felt increasingly drawn toward work that was more intentionally centered on deeper human connection, meaning, and growth. I’ve always been curious about the human condition, our relationships, histories, identities, inner lives, and the ways we navigate the world. I’m especially interested in how people make sense of themselves, how we carry past experiences into the present, and how we search for meaning during periods of uncertainty or change. Becoming a therapist felt like a natural way to bring that curiosity together with my desire to support people through difficult, confusing, and transformative periods of their lives.
My path to therapy grew out of a genuine interest in people and in the stories that shape who we become. I’m drawn to the complexity of our inner lives and to the ways our experiences can influence how we relate to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us. I find meaning in creating a space where people can slow down, feel understood, and begin to explore parts of themselves that may be difficult to put into words. For me, therapy offers an opportunity to bring curiosity, connection, and compassion to the process of understanding ourselves and creating meaningful change.
Ron Shpindler, LMSW's approach
My approach is warm, collaborative, and exploratory. I believe therapy can help us navigate what is difficult in the present while also creating space to understand the deeper patterns, relationships, and experiences that have shaped us. I also believe that healing involves more than understanding ourselves intellectually. Feelings can be painful, confusing, or difficult to access, and we often develop understandable ways of distancing ourselves from them. Therapy can offer a space to gradually turn toward those feelings, experience them more fully, and begin to understand what they may be communicating.
I approach each person as a whole human being whose experience is shaped by emotional, relational, physical, cultural, and spiritual dimensions. When spirituality, faith, meaning, or existential questions are important to you, I welcome those parts of your experience into our work. My work is informed by psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and person-centered approaches, while remaining flexible and responsive to the individual in front of me. Sometimes our work may involve practical ways of coping with what is happening right now, while at other times it may mean slowing down and exploring what is happening beneath the surface. I want therapy to feel like a space where we can be curious together about what you are experiencing and what may be getting in the way of living in a way that feels more meaningful and connected.
What you can expect from sessions with Ron Shpindler, LMSW
You can expect a space that is warm, thoughtful, nonjudgmental, and collaborative. I’ll listen closely, ask questions, and help us slow things down enough to notice what may be happening beneath the surface. Some sessions may feel more reflective and exploratory, while others may focus on immediate challenges, practical support, or finding ways to move through something that feels stuck. I try to meet each person where they are, recognizing that what is helpful can look different at different points in the therapeutic process.
I see therapy as a process we build together. I welcome openness about what feels helpful, what doesn’t, and what you may need more or less of along the way. My hope is that our sessions offer both room to be with what is difficult and a sense that we are working toward greater understanding, connection, and possibility. Over time, I hope therapy can help you feel more connected to yourself, better able to understand your experiences, and more able to navigate life with a greater sense of clarity and meaning.
Ron Shpindler, LMSW's experience working with the Jewish community
Judaism and Jewish life are deeply meaningful to me, and I have experience within a range of Jewish communal and religious spaces. I’m comfortable working with clients across levels of observance and with the ways Jewish identity, spirituality, family, community, and tradition can intersect with mental health. I also appreciate that there is no single Jewish experience, and I approach differences in practice, belief, and background with curiosity and respect. These aspects of a person’s life can be deeply connected to their sense of identity, relationships, values, and the questions they are navigating.
I welcome the opportunity to understand how Jewish life and identity are meaningful to you, whether that is through faith and spirituality, family and community, tradition and practice, or questions about meaning and belonging. I also recognize that Jewish identity can be complex and can hold different meanings at different points in a person’s life. My hope is to create a space where you do not have to separate these parts of yourself from the rest of your experience. Instead, we can make room for the full range of what matters to you and explore how it intersects with your emotional and relational life.

What people have to say about working with me:
-
Ron is a thoughtful, empathic, and highly reflective clinician who brings genuine warmth and curiosity to his work. He has an ability to connect with people while also thinking deeply about the relational, cultural, and emotional factors shaping their experiences. He is exceptionally receptive to feedback and committed to continued professional growth. I first knew Ron as his professor and was sufficiently impressed by his development as a clinician that I later invited him to join my own psychotherapy group practice.
