Why Racheli Barasch, LCSW chose to be in the helping profession

I became a therapist because I’ve always been a deep thinker, curious about people, emotions, and what shapes us beneath the surface. Even from a young age, I found myself drawn to understanding others on a real, meaningful level. I’m naturally empathic, and I genuinely care about what people are going through. I also love asking questions, finding creative solutions, and offering new ways to look at familiar struggles.

Therapy felt like the natural path for me because it brings together everything I value: reflection, connection, and purposeful growth. It allows me to use my curiosity and compassion in a way that supports others as they make sense of their lives and move toward healing. I believe that insight can be a powerful tool for change, and I feel honored to guide people as they reconnect with themselves, build confidence, and create more aligned and fulfilling lives.

Racheli Barasch, LCSW's approach

I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can breathe. It should be safe, comfortable, and free of judgment. My approach is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and real connection. I meet you exactly where you are, without pressure or expectation, and together we create space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that feels manageable and grounded. You're the expert on your life, and I’m here to support you in making sense of what you’re going through, with compassion and care.

I don’t believe in chasing perfection. We’ll focus instead on meaningful progress, however that looks for you. That might mean building new tools, deepening your self-awareness, or simply learning how to be kinder to yourself. Whether you’re facing something specific or just feeling stuck in a way you can’t quite name, therapy can help you reconnect with yourself and find new ways forward. My goal is to help you feel seen, heard, and genuinely supported as you move toward the life you want.

What you can expect from sessions with Racheli Barasch, LCSW

As an empathic therapist, I offer more than just a listening ear. I create a warm, welcoming space where you can feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood. My approach blends active listening with curiosity and care, helping you gently explore what’s happening beneath the surface. At the same time, I offer practical, easy-to-use tools that support you in reducing anxiety, increasing happiness, and making lasting, meaningful change in your day-to-day life.

I’m especially passionate about supporting children, teens, and young adults, as well as women navigating relationships, parenting, anxiety, and communication struggles. Whether you're moving through a particularly hard season or simply feeling disconnected from joy and balance, I meet you with both depth and groundedness. Therapy with me is not about fixing what's broken — it's about reconnecting to what’s already inside you and learning how to move forward in a way that feels right. Our work together will feel real, compassionate, and rooted in the human experience.

Racheli Barasch, LCSW's experience working with the Jewish community

I’ve had the privilege of working with children, families, and young women in a variety of settings, including community-based programs and outpatient mental health clinics. These experiences have allowed me to walk alongside clients facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, and other emotional or behavioral concerns. I value creating a space where people can feel supported as they process their experiences and begin to find relief and clarity.

My clinical training is rooted in several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and psychodynamic therapy. I use these tools flexibly, always tailoring my approach to meet each person’s unique needs and goals. For some, that may look like developing practical coping skills; for others, it may mean exploring deeper patterns or reconnecting with parts of themselves that have been pushed aside. At the heart of my work is a deep respect for each person’s story and the belief that growth is always possible.
