🎯 Direct 💙 Warm 🥇 Empowering 🤝 CollaborativeWhy Heather Feigin chose to be in the helping profession
My journey into the helping profession can be traced back to my family's enduring legacy of therapists and mental health experts. It's almost like this path was woven into the fabric of my life from the very beginning. Ever since my early years, I've found human behavior utterly captivating.
I've always been a people person, and I couldn't help but observe the actions of those around me, pondering what stirred their decisions. What drives people's thoughts? What influences their actions? As I grew older, I eagerly enrolled in any available psychology course and devoured numerous books on mental health in my quest for answers. Eventually, my career choice became crystal clear.
Heather Feigin's approach
In my approach to therapy, I adopt an active and collaborative stance. I firmly believe that the therapeutic journey should be a joint effort, where both you and I play pivotal roles. I'm not one to shy away from asking probing questions and providing constructive feedback. Moreover, I encourage and warmly welcome your questions and feedback as well.
I strive to maintain a delicate equilibrium between empathy and candor. I aim to create a safe and validating space for you to share and explore your thoughts and feelings, while also being unafraid to gently challenge and guide you when necessary. This combination of warmth and honesty forms the foundation of my therapeutic approach, ultimately fostering growth and positive change.
What you can expect from sessions with Heather Feigin
During our initial sessions, my primary focus will be on understanding the reasons that led you to seek therapy. I'll be asking you a series of questions to gain insight into your background and personal history, allowing me to form a comprehensive understanding of who you are. Typically, by the end of our first or second session, we'll collaboratively define your therapy goals, marking the commencement of our work together.
When establishing these goals, we'll draw upon your inherent strengths, personal choices, and life experiences. This approach ensures that your goals are not only realistic but also grounded in your unique attributes and aspirations.
As our therapeutic journey unfolds, I'll regularly check in with you to gauge your progress and ensure that you are receiving the support and guidance you seek from our sessions. Your comfort and satisfaction are of utmost importance, and our ongoing communication will help us fine-tune our approach to best meet your needs.
Heather Feigin's experience working with the Jewish community
Dedication to serving individuals from various walks of life and encompassing diverse religious backgrounds within the Jewish community has been a deeply fulfilling aspect of my career. I find it to be my true calling to work with and contribute to the betterment of the lives of my fellow Jews. One of the most gratifying aspects of this endeavor is the ability to provide assistance and support within a shared cultural and religious context.
For many Jewish clients, it can be immensely reassuring to collaborate with a therapist who genuinely understands their cultural and religious intricacies. It's a significant advantage for them to work with someone who doesn't require exhaustive explanations about the Jewish faith and heritage from the ground up, as this familiarity can foster a more immediate sense of connection and trust in our therapeutic relationship.

What my clients have to say about working with me:
-
"I had been to several therapists before a friend recommended Heather to me. Heather took the time to really get to know me. She is empathic, very thorough, and occasionally funny! I suffer from depression and C-PTSD. Heather took a multi-pronged approach to my treatment. After only a few sessions, I noticed symptom relief (less anxiety, fewer nightmares). Then we spent a few sessions educating me on trauma and all the different ways it has affected my wellbeing and relationships. Now we are working on helping me expand my comfort zones. I highly recommend Heather if you are looking for a great therapist."
