Why Simi Gottesman chose to be in the helping profession

I’ve always known I was here to help people. From a young age, I was the person others naturally came to for support, whether it was caring for someone who was hurt or simply being a safe person to talk to. I found myself drawn to understanding people, showing up for them, and creating a space where they felt seen and supported. Helping others has always been a part of who I am, and over time, I began to understand that this was not just something I enjoyed doing, but something I was deeply called to do.

For many years, I believed healing meant pursuing a career in medicine. I completed my pre-med requirements, earned a Bachelor's degree in Health Science, and volunteered with Ezras Nashim, an all-women EMT squad in Brooklyn, while pursuing the path to becoming a Physician Assistant. When COVID happened, something shifted for me. I began to see healing in a much more holistic way, not only as physical, but also emotional, mental, spiritual, and rooted in the nervous system. I became increasingly drawn to understanding people through their stories, experiences, subconscious beliefs, and the body’s innate capacity to heal.

What I ultimately discovered was that this work brings together everything I have always loved: helping people, personal growth, spirituality, and transformation. Coaching felt less like a career choice and more like coming home to the work I was always meant to do. Today, I combine trauma-informed coaching, ThetaHealing®, and Transforming Touch® to help clients create meaningful and lasting change from the inside out. My approach is centered around helping people reconnect with themselves, release what no longer serves them, and access the healing and growth that is already within them.

Simi Gottesman's approach

My approach is warm, intuitive, trauma-informed, and deeply individualized. I meet my clients exactly where they are, emotionally, spiritually, and in their level of self-awareness. There is no forcing, pushing, or expectation that you need to be anywhere other than where you are today. Together, we create a safe and supportive space to gently expand your capacity for healing, growth, connection, and possibility.

I believe healing happens when the mind, body, nervous system, subconscious, and spirit are all included in the process. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or surface-level patterns, we gently explore the deeper roots of what may be keeping you feeling stuck. A significant part of my work is helping clients expand their window of tolerance and create greater internal safety within themselves and their nervous systems. From a place of safety and regulation, it becomes easier to access new perspectives, make empowered choices, build healthier relationships, and experience more joy, fulfillment, and connection in everyday life.

As a Jewish practitioner, I believe healing is not only emotional and physical, but spiritual as well. I often draw inspiration from Jewish wisdom and Kabbalistic teachings that have profoundly impacted my own growth and healing journey. When aligned with a client’s beliefs and interests, I may weave these perspectives into our work to support deeper insight, connection, meaning, and transformation. At the same time, I deeply respect each person’s unique relationship with spirituality, faith, and personal practice.

Depending on your needs, our work may include nervous system regulation and somatic awareness, subconscious belief work through ThetaHealing®, Transforming Touch® (TEB) nervous system support, inner child and parts work, emotional processing and self-awareness, mindset and relationship support, spiritual exploration, and personal growth. Above all, I aim to create a space that feels grounded, compassionate, collaborative, and free of judgment, where you feel truly seen, supported, and empowered to create meaningful and lasting change from the inside out. This work is not about fixing you. It is about helping you reconnect with the wisdom, resilience, and wholeness that already exist within you.

What you can expect from sessions with Simi Gottesman

You can expect a space where you don’t have to have it all figured out. Our sessions are gentle, supportive, and intuitive, while also being grounded and transformational. Together, we slow things down enough to understand what is really happening beneath the surface, emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually, and within the nervous system. This is a space where you can show up exactly as you are, with compassion, curiosity, and without judgment.

Healing is often not about becoming someone new. It is about reconnecting with and integrating the parts of yourself that have been hurt, rejected, forgotten, or hidden away. As we work together, we gently bring awareness to the patterns, protective parts, inner conflicts, and shadow aspects that may be influencing your life from behind the scenes. Rather than judging or trying to eliminate these parts, we approach them with curiosity, compassion, and understanding, allowing them to be heard, supported, and integrated into a more whole and authentic sense of self.

Every session is tailored to where you are in that moment. Some sessions may feel deeply reflective and emotional, while others may focus more on nervous system support, belief work, practical coaching, spiritual exploration, or creating greater clarity around a challenge you are facing. Clients often leave sessions feeling more calm, regulated, and connected, with a deeper understanding of themselves and greater clarity around their next steps. They may experience feeling less emotionally overwhelmed, more self-aware and empowered, and more connected to their inner wisdom and resilience.

My intention is to help you cultivate a deeper relationship with yourself and create lasting change from the inside out. Through this work, we focus on building greater self-trust, self-acceptance, compassion, connection, purpose, and wholeness. Above all, I strive to create a space where you feel truly seen, validated, and supported as you move toward the life and healing you desire.

Simi Gottesman's experience working with the Jewish community

As an Orthodox Jewish woman, much of my life and work has been rooted within the Jewish community. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with Jewish women, men, teens, young adults, and families across different levels of observance. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the beauty, values, strengths, and complexities that can exist within our community. I recognize the importance of having a space where you can bring your full self and feel understood within the context of your background and experiences.

I understand many of the unique challenges that can arise within the Jewish community, including relationships, parenting, life transitions, anxiety, overwhelm, identity, and balancing personal growth with religious values. My goal is to create a supportive and compassionate environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their challenges while staying connected to what matters most to them. I strive to create a space where clients feel understood without needing to explain every cultural nuance, while honoring their individual beliefs, values, and relationship with Judaism.

What people have to say about working with me:

  • When I first reached out to Simi I was on the verge of a panic attack which was building up for months Simi did I great job stabilizing the situation and pushing me forward to my healing journey I highly recommend! She has a healing soul!

  • Simi has been an absolute lifesaver throughout my journey. When I first started working with her two years ago, I was living with constant panic and anxiety. She helped me identify the negative thought patterns and beliefs that were holding me back, and she taught me powerful tools to calm myself down and cope in healthier ways. Just knowing that I have her on my side has made all the difference. She is always available, and I know I can reach out to her whenever I’m having a hard moment. She consistently makes me feel safe, heard, and understood. Baruch Hashem, I am in a much better place today thanks to her constant support, guidance, and care!

  • I honestly don’t even know if words can fully capture what this experience meant to me. My journey with Simi was deeply powerful and life shifting in a way I still feel years later. Simi gave me so much of her time and energy, I felt completely held and supported. That level of dedication made it feel so safe to open up and go deep. Simi helped me open a door to a whole new world within myself, new perspectives, new awareness, and a new way of seeing life and my own growth. I left that experience changed in a way I can never forget. Even now, three years later, I'm still processing moments from my journey. Which continues to shape how I move through life. I have so much gratitude for Simi. What she gave me went far beyond that moment in time, and I will always appreciate the role she played in my growth. Thank you for the start of something I never knew would be possible. With so much love "S"

  • I know Simi Gottesman through Transforming Touch®, where she has been a student in the training. I have had the opportunity to witness her learning, presence, and growth within the Transforming Touch® community. Some of the strengths I have seen in Simi’s professional work are her thoughtfulness, sensitivity, and grounded presence. She brings a lot of care and curiosity to the work, and she seems genuinely committed to understanding the body, nervous system regulation, and how to support others in a respectful and attuned way. She listens closely, takes the work seriously, and brings a compassionate energy into the learning space. Simi handles feedback with openness and reflection. She seems willing to receive guidance, consider it carefully, and integrate it into her practice. That kind of receptivity is important in this work, and I have appreciated the way she remains engaged and curious throughout the learning process.
