Why I chose to be in the helping profession
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a M.S. in Clinical Counseling. In my practice, I work with individuals and couples on a variety of issues. My approach is tailored to each individual, most often using the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy modality and integrating components of other approaches as needed.
As a trauma trained clinician, I assist clients in effectively addressing affective, cognitive, and behavioral problems commonly associated with trauma. Often people are not aware of the long reaching effect that trauma has and the way that it can impact their present.
I especially enjoy helping clients enhance their sense of self worth, establishing healthy boundaries and healthy relationships. My most recent training has been in the realm of addressing intimate challenges with religious couples. This seems to be a growing need in our times.
My view of therapy is strength based; I believe that my clients are their own best resource and that therapy is most effective when a client is open to recognizing issues and willing to implement change.
