💙 Warm 👂 Listener 🙌 Affirming 🥇 EmpoweringWhy Raizel Gordon, MSW, RCSWI chose to be in the helping profession
I chose the helping profession because I have always naturally enjoyed connecting with others and building meaningful relationships. I value creating a space where people feel safe, heard, and understood, and I believe that feeling supported is an important part of growth and healing. I am passionate about helping children, adolescents, and young adults find their voice, recognize their strengths, and build confidence in themselves. It is meaningful to support individuals as they navigate challenges, work through difficult experiences, and develop a stronger sense of who they are.
My approach is centered around meeting each person where they are and creating a supportive environment where they can feel comfortable being themselves. I enjoy helping individuals explore their thoughts and emotions, develop coping skills, and discover the strengths they already have within them. Whether someone is facing a specific challenge or looking to better understand themselves, I strive to provide guidance, encouragement, and compassion throughout the process. I feel privileged to be part of each person’s journey as they grow, gain confidence, and move toward greater self-awareness.

My approach is warm, client-centered, and grounded in acceptance and curiosity. I believe emotions are an important starting point for understanding ourselves and that creating a safe, supportive space allows clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. I strive to meet each client where they are, honoring their unique story and the experiences that have shaped them. Together, we work toward building greater self-understanding while recognizing the strengths and resilience that may have been overlooked.
My goal is to help clients feel more confident, connected, and empowered in their daily lives. I believe that through exploration, reflection, and a deeper understanding of ourselves, we can create meaningful change and develop healthier ways of navigating challenges. I enjoy supporting clients as they gain insight, build trust in themselves, and discover new perspectives. It is a privilege to walk alongside clients as they grow and move toward a greater sense of balance and well-being.
What you can expect from sessions with Raizel Gordon, MSW, RCSWI
For children and adolescents, therapy begins with a parent intake session to gather important background information, understand your child’s experiences, and discuss goals for therapy. For young adults, we begin with an intake session focused on getting to know you, understanding your experiences, and exploring what you hope to gain from the therapeutic process. Assessment is an ongoing process, and I believe that each client’s journey is unique, with progress happening at their own pace.
Sessions are tailored to each individual’s needs and may include play, art, conversation, and exploration of emotions and experiences. I strive to create a supportive and comfortable environment where clients feel safe expressing themselves and exploring what they are going through. Collaboration is an important part of my approach as we work together to better understand emotions, build on existing strengths, and support personal growth. My goal is to help clients develop greater self-awareness, confidence, and the tools they need to navigate challenges in their daily lives.
