💙 Warm 👂 Listener 🙌 Affirming 🥇 EmpoweringWhy Daniela Weiss, LMSW, C-PST, M.Ed. chose to be in the helping profession
I've always been someone who deeply cares about others. In my roles as a peer, friend, and rebbetzin, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals through many difficult and sensitive life situations. Over time, I noticed that I felt especially comfortable and connected when engaging in conversations around trauma, relationships, and sexuality. It also became clear to me that there was a real need for more trained professionals in the frum world who could hold space for these topics with both sensitivity and expertise.
To that end, I pursued professional training that would allow me to do this work with care and integrity. I hold a Master’s in Social Work and a Master’s in Education in Human Sexuality. I’m also currently a doctoral candidate at Yeshiva University, where my research focuses on the lived experiences of frum women in the United States. My work is grounded not only in academic knowledge but also in real-world experience.
I’ve had the opportunity to work extensively with adolescents, individuals from diverse backgrounds, and members of the LGBTQ+ community along with their families. I'm trained to Level 3 in The Gottman Method for couples therapy, and I’ve also received training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) through Northwell. All of these experiences continue to shape the way I show up for my clients and inform my commitment to offering a safe, inclusive, and compassionate therapeutic space.
Daniela Weiss, LMSW, C-PST, M.Ed.'s approach
I take an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing heavily from my background in sex therapy and tailoring each session to meet the unique needs of the individual sitting across from me. At the core of my work is a strong therapeutic relationship and a strengths-based perspective. I strive to create a space where clients feel genuinely safe, seen, and empowered to explore, grow, and reach their goals - both in and outside of the therapeutic space.
I often describe therapy as a journey we take together. You're in the driver's seat - you choose the destination, and I hold the map. My role is to guide, support, and sometimes offer new routes or perspectives, but ultimately, it’s your hand on the wheel. You may decide to change destinations, take a detour, or pull over for a while. That’s all part of the process, and wherever you’re headed, we’ll work together to help you get there in a way that feels right for you.
What you can expect from sessions with Daniela Weiss, LMSW, C-PST, M.Ed.
Our sessions will be warm, empathetic, and thoughtfully tailored to your needs. Together, we’ll explore your history, current functioning, and any emotional blocks or regulation challenges that may be impacting your well-being. I currently meet with clients virtually and am committed to being as flexible as possible in accommodating your schedule.
In couples therapy, you can expect some homework between sessions to help reinforce the work we do together. In individual therapy, homework may be part of the process if it feels aligned with your goals and preferences, but it's never one-size-fits-all. I also integrate psychoeducation into our work, ensuring you’re informed and empowered when it comes to understanding your experiences, exploring treatment options, and developing coping strategies that work for you.
While I bring clinical training and therapeutic tools into our sessions, you are the expert on yourself - and I honor and respect that. Our work will always be collaborative, rooted in mutual trust, and guided by what feels most supportive for your growth and healing.
Daniela Weiss, LMSW, C-PST, M.Ed.'s experience working with the Jewish community
I’ve served as a rebbetzin for the past 18 years and have spent the last five years working with Jewish clients in a clinical setting. My experience spans across various Jewish communities, including Ashkenazi, Mizrachi, and Sephardi backgrounds. I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals who identify as frum, formerly frum, and those who are currently navigating questions around their religious identity.
I recognize that spirituality plays a central role in many people’s lives, and I make space for clients to explore and express their spiritual selves in session when and how it feels relevant to them. I am deeply attuned to the range of sensitivities that exist across the religious spectrum, and I strive to approach each client’s unique background and beliefs with curiosity, respect, and care. My goal is to honor the communities my clients are a part of, while also fully supporting the personal choices and journeys they are on.
