🌎 Holistic 🎨 Creative 🤝 CollaborativeWhy Chaya Spigelman, PA-C chose to be in the helping profession
My own experience with the deep isolation of postpartum depression is what led me to specialize in reproductive psychiatry. I know firsthand how lonely and overwhelming that chapter can be, and it became clear to me that so many women are silently struggling without the support they deserve. I'm deeply passionate about care for women, by women - support grounded in empathy and lived experience. My goal is to create more transparency around maternal mental health and to help break down the stigma that keeps so many from reaching out. No one should have to go through it alone.
Chaya Spigelman, PA-C's approach
At the heart of my work is a singular motivation: to help improve your quality of life in a meaningful, lasting way. If you’re navigating hormone-related mental health challenges and longing to be seen, heard, and understood by your provider, Psychiatry for Women was created with you in mind. Here, we offer more than just treatment — we offer a compassionate partnership rooted in respect, trust, and deep understanding.
This is a safe and nurturing space where your experiences are validated, your concerns are taken seriously, and your care is tailored to reflect your unique journey. We take a holistic and integrative approach to mental health, recognizing the profound connection between hormones, emotions, and overall well-being.
My practice is dedicated to walking alongside women through every phase of life, with specialized expertise in premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), infertility-related emotional struggles, pregnancy and postpartum mental health, and the often unspoken challenges of peri- and post-menopause.
Whatever season you’re in, you deserve care that empowers you, honors your story, and helps you feel like yourself again.
What you can expect from sessions with Chaya Spigelman, PA-C
In our sessions, you can expect a thoughtful and thorough approach. I take the time to do a deep dive into your social, emotional, and medical history so I can fully understand you, not just your symptoms. Before offering any recommendations, I make it a priority to truly listen and get a clear picture of your unique experience.
When it comes to treatment, I take a comprehensive and individualized approach. My recommendations may include behavioral strategies, supplements or nutraceuticals, and lifestyle modifications, alongside prescription medications when appropriate. The goal is always to find a plan that feels supportive, manageable, and aligned with your values and needs.
Chaya Spigelman, PA-C's experience working with the Jewish community
For the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of providing psychiatric care to members of the Jewish community in Baltimore, and more recently, in New York. Over time, my practice has grown to include patients from many different backgrounds, and currently, the majority of my clients are not Jewish. That said, I have a deep desire to welcome more Jewish clients into my practice.
With a strong understanding of the nuances within Jewish life — including family purity laws, Shabbat, holidays, and community customs — I bring a level of cultural sensitivity and familiarity that may be harder to find with a provider who doesn’t share or deeply understand these experiences. My goal is to offer care that feels safe, respectful, and aligned with the values and rhythms of your life.

"I’ve been seeing Chaya for the past few years to manage my maternal health, and I cannot recommend her enough! From day one, she has been incredibly attentive and supportive. Chaya is a fantastic listener, always giving me the space to voice my concerns while also offering thoughtful and personalized advice. She has a unique ability to let me lead the conversation, but she’s still fully engaged and provides valuable insights when needed. Her understanding and flexibility make every visit comfortable, and she always makes sure that I feel heard and supported throughout my entire care. Chaya's compassionate approach to healthcare has made a world of difference in my experience, and I am so grateful for her expertise and kindness. If you're looking for a provider who genuinely cares about your well-being, Chaya is the one!"

"I’ve had a few prescribers for my mental health meds over the years and none of them compare to Chaya. She actually takes the full appointment time, really listens, asks good questions, and makes sure things are going as well as they possibly can. We’ve tweaked my meds a few times and she’s been responsive and easy to talk with when side effects made one med intolerable for me. Definitely one of the few providers out there that is worth the money, even if she’s not on your insurance."

"I have tried many psych's over the past 10+ years who only focused on one aspect of my health or simply didn't listen to me, so my first appointment with Chaya was like a breath of fresh air. She truly cares about her patients and goes above and beyond for them. She is very knowledgable and takes the time to understand what is going on. Would absolutely recommend!"
