💙 Warm 👂 Listener 🙌 Affirming 🥇 EmpoweringWhy Yael Katz chose to be in the helping profession
Throughout my upbringing, I had the privilege of spending time with grandparents and great-aunts and uncles who had experienced the horrors of the Holocaust and were forced to flee Europe. Witnessing their diverse ways of coping with the trauma left a profound impact on me. It became clear that each family member had a unique relationship with their past, which greatly influenced their present lives.
What intrigued me the most was the role that creativity played in their journey toward resilience and healing. I observed that several family members found solace in creative outlets, and this realization sparked a deep fascination within me. Consequently, I made the decision to study art therapy, as I believed it held the power to help others foster resilience and healing through their own creative expressions.
As I embarked on my professional journey, I quickly discovered that the path to healing and self-actualization is a deeply personal one, tailored to each individual's needs. It is a process that is as diverse as the people themselves. Guiding clients along this transformative path, witnessing their growth, and empowering them to embrace their truest selves has been an incredibly fulfilling experience for me.
In my role as a therapist, I have come to understand the immense value of fostering authenticity in others. By encouraging individuals to tap into their inner creativity, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact it can have on their overall well-being and personal growth. It is this profound impact that continues to fuel my passion for the helping profession and motivates me to guide others toward becoming the most authentic versions of themselves.
Each day, I am inspired by the opportunity to support others on their paths to self-discovery, and I am honored to witness the incredible strength and growth that emerges through this process.
