🎯 Direct 💙 Warm 🥇 Empowering 🌎 HolisticAbout The Renfrew Center
As the organization that pioneered eating disorder treatment over forty years ago, The Renfrew Center remains family-owned, mission-driven, and independent from investor influence. Our work continues to be grounded in clinical rigor, compassion, and a commitment to helping individuals build lives beyond their eating disorders. We believe treatment is not a destination, but a foundation for what comes next: the opportunity to participate in a full life that is bigger than illness. Through connection, continuity of care, clinical leadership, innovation, and proven outcomes, Renfrew has earned the trust of families, individuals, and providers seeking meaningful, lasting recovery.
Across our residential, day treatment, outpatient, and virtual programs, we address the many forces that contribute to and sustain eating disorders. By combining research-backed treatment, our groundbreaking unified treatment model, and the expertise of our clinicians, we create an environment where individuals can work toward lasting recovery. As an innovator that never stopped learning, Renfrew continues to evolve while remaining committed to the principles that have guided us for decades. Our history is not simply something we look back on. It lives on through more than forty years of alumni experiences, each showing what is possible when individuals receive the care, connection, and support they need to move forward.
Programs and services offered at The Renfrew Center
The Renfrew Center offers multiple levels of eating disorder care to support individuals at different stages of recovery. We recognize that everyone's needs are different, and the right level of care can make a meaningful difference in the recovery process. Our programs provide varying levels of structure, therapeutic support, and flexibility, allowing individuals to receive care that meets them where they are. From more intensive treatment to ongoing support, our goal is to help each individual build the foundation for lasting recovery.
Our in-person residential treatment program provides 24-hour care in a therapeutic environment for individuals who need the highest level of structure and clinical oversight. Day Treatment (PHP) offers intensive treatment five days per week, allowing individuals to return home each evening, while Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP) provides structured treatment three times per week with greater flexibility to maintain work, school, and family commitments. Both PHP and IOP are available through in-person and virtual treatment options.
Outpatient services include individual therapy, nutrition counseling, and ongoing support for those seeking less intensive care or continued support in recovery.
Jewish Community Experience
Recovery is most effective when treatment honors the whole person. For many individuals in the Jewish community, cultural traditions, religious observances, and family connections are integral parts of daily life and play an important role in the recovery journey. At The Renfrew Center, we understand the importance of recognizing these considerations when supporting individuals throughout treatment. Our team is committed to providing thoughtful, culturally sensitive care that respects what matters most to each individual while helping them build a meaningful life beyond their eating disorder.
