Why Shira Pomrantz, LCSW chose to be in the helping profession

Working with people has always been a passion of mine. It's an incredible privilege to play a role in someone else's journey of personal growth, and I deeply appreciate the opportunity to be invited into the sacred space of another person's internal process. This is a daily occurrence for me, and what fills me with pride is when a client not only tells me but demonstrates how they can independently navigate their internal challenges in a meaningful way, without my direct facilitation.

Witnessing a client integrate the skills we've worked on and strengthen their own self-confidence to engage with their internal processes autonomously is truly gratifying. My ultimate goal is to empower each client to approach their personal growth with independence. Even after reaching this point, I remain available for support, ensuring that they can always reach out if they encounter any challenges or need assistance in navigating stuck points.

My satisfaction comes from seeing my clients not just succeed in their personal development, but thrive independently, embodying the skills and confidence they've cultivated throughout the therapeutic journey.

Shira Pomrantz, LCSW's approach

I hold a steadfast belief in the inherent emotional intelligence that resides within each individual. Once this intelligence is tapped into, a transformative journey unfolds, significantly enhancing the quality of one's life. It paves the way for secure attachments and fosters meaningful connections, not only with others but crucially, within our internal system—comprising the various parts that make up our personalities.

In my therapeutic practice, I guide clients to explore and understand their internal parts, encouraging the development of relationships with these facets of their being. This process empowers individuals to lead with increased confidence, clarity, and compassion. I've observed that connecting with even the most challenging aspects of ourselves can be a catalyst for healing. It's a profound and beautiful process that never ceases to inspire me, as clients embark on a journey of self-discovery and acceptance, ultimately fostering a harmonious relationship with their internal landscape.

I’ve worked with many therapists over the years and Shira is by far my favorite. Her therapy style is effective and she really cares. She’s had a huge impact on me, and I know she’d never take the credit for it but my life is better because of her. Anyone who gets to work with her is lucky, I just love her.
