Liba Lurie's style
🎯 Direct 💙 Warm 👂 Listener 🥇 EmpoweringWhy Liba Lurie chose to be in the helping profession
I’ve always been drawn to people’s inner worlds and the ways our experiences shape how we move through life. But it became much more personal for me once I got married and started having kids. I realized I didn’t want to pass on the same patterns and pain I grew up with, and that forced me to look inward in a way I hadn’t before. I began to understand how much of our behavior is automatic, shaped by experiences we haven’t fully processed, and that realization changed how I related to myself and the people around me.
As I became more aware of my own patterns, I also started noticing how many people feel stuck, not because they don’t care or aren’t trying, but because they don’t have the tools or support to understand what’s really going on beneath the surface. That’s what drew me to this work. For me, it’s not just about helping people feel better in the moment, but helping them build a healthier and more honest relationship with themselves so real, lasting change becomes possible. I believe that when people feel understood and have the space to slow down and look inward, they’re often able to grow in ways they never thought they could.
Liba Lurie's approach
My approach is focused on helping you better understand and shift the way you relate to your own internal experience. Rather than focusing only on behavior or trying to find quick fixes, we look at what’s happening underneath the surface: your thoughts, emotions, patterns, and automatic reactions. I believe many of the ways we respond to ourselves and others happen outside of our awareness, and part of the work is slowing down enough to begin noticing those patterns with more clarity. From there, we can start creating space for more intentional responses instead of staying stuck in old ways of reacting.
I also believe that awareness alone is not enough. Real change comes from learning how to stay present with yourself, even when things feel uncomfortable, overwhelming, or unfamiliar. I’m an active therapist, which means I don’t just sit back and listen. I ask questions, reflect what I’m noticing, and when it feels helpful, gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck. My goal is never to judge or fix you, but to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself so you can move through your life with more clarity, calm, and confidence.
What you can expect from sessions with Liba Lurie
You can expect a space that is both supportive and engaged. This is not just a place to talk about what’s going on, but a place to slow down and really explore your experience in a deeper way. Together, we’ll look at the moments where you feel overwhelmed, stuck, reactive, or disconnected, and begin to understand what may be happening underneath those reactions. My goal is to help you feel safe enough to explore those experiences without judgment and with curiosity instead of shame.
At times, I may guide you to tune into your body, notice sensations, or stay with an emotional experience in a way that feels manageable and grounded. This is often where deeper processing and change begin to happen. We may also use guided imagery or other experiential tools to help access parts of yourself that can be harder to reach through words alone. Over time, the goal is for you to feel more grounded, more intentional in your responses, and more connected to yourself and the people in your life.
Liba Lurie's experience working with the Jewish community
I live in Israel and work with individuals and families across the Jewish community. I understand how culture, family dynamics, and faith can shape a person’s experience in deep and complicated ways, sometimes as a source of support and belonging, and sometimes as something that carries pressure, confusion, or pain. My own journey, growing up traditional, spending 15 years living an Orthodox lifestyle, and eventually finding my own balance, allows me to connect with people from many different backgrounds with openness and without judgment. I know how personal and layered these experiences can be, and I try to create a space where people feel comfortable showing up as they are.
For some people, Judaism is central to how they understand themselves and their lives. For others, it may feel less important, more complicated, or not something they want to focus on at all. Either way is completely okay. If it matters to you, it can become part of our work together in a way that feels meaningful and authentic to you. If it doesn’t, there is no pressure to make it a focus. My role is not to push an agenda or tell you who you should be, but to support you in understanding your own experience more deeply and finding what feels true and grounded for you.
