Why Dvorah Goodman chose to be in the helping profession

My own journey taught me that true healing comes not only through insight, but through compassionate presence and embodied listening. My path into therapy began with my own need to heal, and through years of searching, trauma, and deep inner work, I discovered just how much wisdom the body holds. I learned how gently and precisely it can guide us out of pain, and how transformative it can be to listen to what is emerging in each moment.

Today, I work integratively, with Focusing as the foundation, and incorporate IFS and Family Constellations when it serves the process. My approach is attuned to what is alive in the moment, supporting each person in finding clarity, vitality, and a sense of inner safety. If you feel stuck, carrying old pain, or longing for deeper connection with yourself, you do not have to navigate it alone. Together, we can uncover the guidance and resilience already within you.

Dvorah Goodman's approach

My approach to therapy is body-centered, relational, and deeply compassionate. I integrate Focusing-oriented therapy, parts work, and awareness of family and generational patterns to support healing at the level where experience is held in the body. Rather than trying to change or fix parts of you, we listen to them with respect and curiosity, creating space for what has been silenced or carried alone to unfold safely. I believe each person carries an inner wisdom that naturally moves toward healing when met with presence and attunement.

Working together, therapy becomes a gentle yet powerful process of reconnecting with yourself, your inner authority, and your capacity for aliveness. It is a space where curiosity, compassion, and attuned attention guide the work, helping you reclaim parts of yourself that have long been overlooked or hidden. Over time, this practice can cultivate clarity, vitality, and a deeper sense of safety within yourself. My goal is to support you in discovering the guidance, resilience, and aliveness that already exist inside you.

What you can expect from sessions with Dvorah Goodman

In our sessions, you can expect a safe, attuned, and collaborative space where your experience is held with care. We gently explore your present-moment experience, including body awareness, emotions, and inner parts, at a pace that feels right for you. I integrate Focusing-oriented therapy with parts work, alongside attention to relational and generational patterns, allowing the work to unfold naturally.

This approach supports movement from stuckness and unresolved pain toward greater clarity, emotional regulation, and inner stability. Many clients describe the process as both grounding and transformative, deepening their connection to inner resources and their capacity for healing. Together, we create a space where what has been carried alone can be acknowledged, understood, and gently released, fostering a renewed sense of balance and resilience.

Dvorah Goodman's experience working with the Jewish community

I am an Israeli Jew and work exclusively with Jewish women, both in Israel and internationally. I spent six years living in Tzfat, where I worked closely with women from ultra-Orthodox backgrounds as well as the broader Jewish community. Being Israeli and deeply rooted in Torah-based life, I bring an embodied understanding of the values, sensitivities, and lived realities within Orthodox communities.

I also have a strong background in Chassidus and Kabbalah, which I integrate respectfully when it aligns with a client’s spiritual framework. Many clients find comfort in working with a therapist who shares their cultural and spiritual language, creating a sense of understanding, connection, and trust. My goal is to provide a space where Jewish women can explore personal growth and healing while honoring their traditions and beliefs.

What people have to say about working with me:

  • Dvorah has been a transformative guide on my healing journey, creating a safe, compassionate space where I felt truly seen and empowered. Her gentle, intuitive approach helped me connect with neglected parts of myself, heal my inner child, and address anxiety with confidence and ease. Instead of offering quick fixes, she guided me to trust my own intuition, fostering self-discovery and lasting empowerment. If you’re seeking a therapist who combines deep insight, sensitivity, and kindness, Dvorah is a rare gem in the world of therapy.

  • My time working with Dvorah set me up for success as a newly married young woman. I was pregnant with my first baby during our time working together and I really needed the reassuring, grounding and supportive voice Dvorah was able to be for me. We didn’t just sit and talk like traditional therapy I had been to in the past. I can talk all day but Dvorah helped me understand the importance of sitting in my current emotional state in my physical body without telling a lot of stories surrounding my present experience. She helped me find safety in being in the present moment and taught me how truly brave I could be holding big feelings I never knew how to cope with healthily before if at all! Now I have another baby and life with two young children brings a lot less time for introspection than I’d like. Even now though I turn to coping mechanisms I practiced with Dvorah like deep breathing, taking moments to pause and really ask myself what I need, and being extra compassionate toward myself when I feel overwhelmed or am being a bit too hard on myself for not reaching all my expectations. I highly recommend working with Dvorah to find your true inner voice of strength, to reconnect to your inner child and feel safe and confident in your body and in relationship with yourself, your loved ones and the Creator.

  • I have known Dvorah Goodman for over 11 years. We initially met while she was studying Focusing, where I was the teaching assistant. Over time, our professional relationship deepened: I became her therapist for a few years and for the past two years I am her clinical supervisor. Dvorah brings a profound level of professional dedication to her work. She practices from the heart, with great sensitivity, presence, and vitality. Her most striking quality is her deeply listening heart - an exceptional capacity to attune to others with openness and care. She possesses strong intersubjective abilities and meets clients in a deeply human and relational way. Dvorah embodies, with her whole being, the spirit of the biblical verse, “Grant Your servant a listening heart” (King Solomon) - a quality that is deeply felt in her therapeutic presence. Dvorah approaches feedback with openness, humility, and a genuine desire to grow. She actively seeks feedback in order to become more aware of her blind spots and to deepen her understanding of herself and her clinical work. She is motivated to become an ever more attuned and effective therapist, and she welcomes constructive input that can support this development. Dvorah reflects thoughtfully on feedback and integrates it into her practice, using it to refine her sensitivity, relational awareness, and therapeutic presence.
