Carly Stanton, LPC's style
🎯 Direct 💙 Warm 🥇 Empowering 🎨 CreativeWhy Carly Stanton, LPC chose to be in the helping profession
I've always been fascinated by what shapes us. Our families, experiences, relationships, strengths, struggles, and the stories we tell ourselves about who we are all influence how we move through the world. Studying psychology helped me make sense of things I had observed in myself and others for years, and it gave language to questions I had been asking long before I ever stepped into a classroom. It didn't take long for me to realize that I wanted to spend my life helping people better understand themselves and create lives that feel more grounded, connected, and authentic.
My path began in music therapy, where I witnessed firsthand how healing happens when people feel truly seen, understood, and accepted. Those experiences taught me that meaningful change doesn't come from having all the answers. It comes from having the space to explore, process, and be met with genuine compassion. Over time, I found myself increasingly drawn to the depth of individual conversations and the opportunity to help people untangle old patterns, heal from painful experiences, and better understand the ways their past continues to shape their present.
What I love most about this work is the privilege of walking alongside people as they begin to see themselves with greater curiosity and kindness. Again and again, I have watched people discover that they are not broken, and often never were. They have simply been carrying more than they were ever meant to carry alone. My hope is to offer a space where you can set some of that weight down, reconnect with your own strengths, and move toward a life that feels more meaningful, fulfilling, and true to who you are.
Carly Stanton, LPC's approach
My approach to therapy is warm, direct, collaborative, and deeply person-centered. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine partnership, where you feel heard, respected, and supported while also being gently challenged to grow. I help clients understand not only what they're experiencing, but why. Together, we explore the patterns, beliefs, relationships, and life experiences that have shaped the way they move through the world today, creating space for greater awareness, understanding, and lasting change.
I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, self-compassion, and insight-oriented approaches, always tailoring therapy to each person's unique needs and goals. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach, I adapt our work together based on what feels most helpful for you. Whether you're navigating anxiety, ADHD, burnout, family dynamics, grief, identity questions, or major life transitions, my goal is to help you build greater clarity, self-trust, and resilience. I want therapy to be a place where you can better understand yourself, develop practical tools, and feel more confident in how you respond to life's challenges.
I believe meaningful change happens when people feel safe enough to be honest with themselves and supported enough to try something new. Healing doesn't mean becoming someone different. It means reconnecting with the person you've always been beneath the weight of difficult experiences, self-doubt, or expectations that no longer serve you. My hope is that our work together helps you move forward with greater confidence, compassion, and a stronger sense of who you are and what matters most to you.
What you can expect from sessions with Carly Stanton, LPC
You can expect a warm, honest, and collaborative space where you don't have to have everything figured out before you arrive. There is no expectation that you'll know exactly what to say or where to begin. We'll move at a pace that feels right for you, creating a space where you can be open, ask difficult questions, and explore your experiences without fear of judgment. My goal is to help you feel safe enough to show up as you are, even on the days when things feel messy or uncertain.
In our early sessions, we'll focus on building trust, understanding what brings you to therapy, and identifying the patterns, challenges, and goals that matter most to you. My style is both supportive and direct. I won't rush you, but I also won't leave you feeling stuck in the same place forever. I'll offer compassion when you need it, honesty when it's helpful, and practical guidance that supports meaningful growth.
Together, we'll work toward greater self-understanding, healthier boundaries, more self-compassion, and practical changes that help your life feel more aligned with who you really are. I believe therapy isn't just about managing symptoms. It's about understanding yourself more fully, making choices that reflect your values, and building a life that feels authentic and sustainable. Therapy isn't about becoming someone else. It's about reconnecting with the parts of yourself that may have been buried beneath stress, expectations, or survival mode, and learning to trust yourself again.
Carly Stanton, LPC's experience working with the Jewish community
As a Jewish therapist, I understand how deeply identity, belonging, family history, culture, and current events can shape our emotional well-being. These parts of who we are often influence how we experience relationships, navigate challenges, and make sense of the world around us. In recent years, I've become increasingly passionate about supporting Jewish clients who are navigating antisemitism, identity questions, grief, fear, anger, and the many complicated emotions that can arise when the broader world feels unsafe, isolating, or misunderstood. I recognize that these experiences are deeply personal, and I believe they deserve to be met with understanding rather than explanation.
I strive to create a space where clients don't have to educate their therapist about Jewish experiences before they can begin talking about what they're carrying. My hope is that therapy can be a place where you feel understood from the start, allowing us to focus on your experiences instead of spending time providing cultural context. Whether someone is deeply connected to Judaism, culturally Jewish, questioning their relationship with Jewish identity, or struggling with the emotional impact of current events, I aim to offer a space that feels safe, validating, and free from assumptions. Above all, I want clients to feel that every part of who they are is welcome in the room, and that they can explore both their struggles and their strengths with openness, curiosity, and support.

- The Nature of Witches
I genuinely didn't want this book to end. It's one of those stories that stayed with me long after I finished it. Beneath the fantasy and magic, it's really a story about shame, self-trust, and learning to embrace the parts of ourselves we fear most. Every time I read it, I walk away feeling more hopeful, more empowered, and reminded that our greatest strengths are often hidden beneath the things we spend years trying to suppress. - Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life
ACT is a major influence on my work. This book offers practical tools for creating a more meaningful life while learning how to relate differently to difficult thoughts and emotions. - To Sleep in a Sea of Stars
I'm a sucker for stories about resilience, transformation, and strong female leads, and this one absolutely delivered. It's an epic sci-fi adventure, but at its heart it's about grief, identity, loss, connection, and becoming something bigger than you ever imagined possible. It's one of those books that reminds me how adaptable human beings are, even when life changes in ways we never could have predicted.
