While the traditional formats of therapy have their place and are certainly important, there are plenty of fun ways you can find healing. Most of these are best done with a qualified therapist or coach.
Who says growth and healing can't be fun?
In this week's segment, let's discuss some fun ways to find the path forward.
- Expressive Arts Therapy
- Using art, music, writing, and movement to help express feelings, discover yourself, heal, grow and overcome struggles.
- Equine Therapy
- Horseback riding with a therapeutic focus on building confidence, trust, emotional awareness, impulse control and problem solving.
- Animal Therapy
- Using a relationship with an animal to increase self worth, trust, emotional stability, self regulation, and socialization skills.
- Krav Maga/ Boxing
- A physical way to learn self protection, safely express anger, boost confidence, and enhance focus.
- Ice Skating
- A physical way to learn to face fears, find balance, gain confidence, and come to accept your mistakes.
- Running and Exercise
- Using naturally released endorphins, your body improves mood, sleep, self esteem and more.
- Yoga
- With an emphasis on breathing and meditation, yoga calms and centers the mind, improves mood, and sharpens memory.
- Laughter
- Watch something funny, share laffy taffy jokes, be silly - laughter helps you relax, recharge, and release serotonin (happy hormones) in your brain and reduce stress in your body.
So go have some fun! Fun, joy, and healing all come together.
