Why Tzipora Schiffer, LCSW chose to be in the helping profession

I chose to enter the field of therapy because I have been deeply moved by the powerful transformation that can occur when someone shifts from being their own harshest critic to becoming their most genuine and enthusiastic supporter. Witnessing this process, and the relief and confidence that often come with it, continues to inspire my work. I believe that learning to relate to oneself with compassion can be truly life changing. This belief is at the heart of how I approach therapy and the space I strive to create for the women I work with.

I am especially passionate about supporting Jewish women as they work toward greater self-love, self-empowerment, and personal growth. My goal is to help clients reconnect with their inner strengths and develop a more grounded, supportive relationship with themselves. I understand the unique pressures, expectations, and values that can shape a Jewish woman’s experience, and I aim to hold those with care and respect. Through our work together, I hope to support each woman in building a life that feels more authentic, confident, and aligned with who she truly is.

Tzipora Schiffer, LCSW's approach

My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that you already carry within you a deep well of wholeness, health, and healing. Even in moments of struggle or self-doubt, I see these qualities as present and accessible. Therapy, in my view, is not about fixing what is broken, but about reconnecting with what is already there. This perspective shapes how I listen, respond, and walk alongside you in the therapeutic process.

My goal is to offer a nurturing and secure space where you can feel safe enough to explore, reflect, and grow. I place great value on building a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship, as I believe meaningful change happens within connection. Within this environment, I aim to support you in showing up as your authentic self, without judgment or pressure. From that place, your natural capacity to blossom and thrive can unfold at its own pace.

What you can expect from sessions with Tzipora Schiffer, LCSW

During our sessions, you can expect space to talk about your week, if that feels helpful to you. What stands out most, however, is our focus on the present moment and what is happening right now. Rather than only revisiting the past or analyzing events from a distance, we will gently turn our attention to your immediate experience. This allows us to notice patterns, emotions, and responses as they arise.

Together, we will explore the here and now, including the somatic sensations you may be experiencing and the relational dynamics that unfold between us in the room. Paying attention to the body and to our interaction can offer meaningful insight into how you relate to yourself and others. These moments often open the door to deeper awareness and understanding. From this place, new ways of being and responding can begin to take shape.

Tzipora Schiffer, LCSW's experience working with the Jewish community

Throughout my professional journey, I have primarily focused on working with and supporting frum women within the Jewish community. This focus has grown organically from both my clinical experience and my personal understanding of the community. I am deeply familiar with the values, rhythms, and expectations that shape daily life, and I approach this work with sensitivity and respect. These elements are always held with care in the therapeutic space.

As a frum woman myself, I bring an insider’s perspective that allows for genuine connection and understanding. I recognize the specific needs, concerns, and complexities that frum women may face, both internally and within their families and communities. This shared context can create a sense of ease and trust, allowing clients to speak openly without needing to explain or translate their experience. My goal is to offer support that feels grounded, relevant, and deeply attuned to the world you live in.

What people have to say about working with me:

  • Dearest Tzipora, Our time together is drawing to a close, and I have so many feelings. I'm proud of myself and the progress I've made. I feel good that I've worked so hard to reach this point. Yet at the same time, it's a bit frightening to let go of something that has been a strong source of support for me. But I know it's the right time to move on. Thank you for helping me get to the place I am now, where trauma does not have to define me or get in the way of me living my best life. Thank you for making space for and helping me hold feelings that I've been pushing aside for years because I was scared of what I would find if I faced them. Thank you for helping me make decisions and grow as a person with confidence, without being crippled by self-doubt and feelings of unworthiness. I found you on LinkedIn, and if you'd be some other type of service provider, it'd be the most natural thing for me to post a recommendation on your profile to let people know how happy I am with your service. But you're not an interior designer, builder, artist, or marketer. You are a therapist. And while I'm all for lessening stigma around mental health and therapy, I would prefer to keep certain things about my life private, especially on a business-oriented platform. So feel free to post this letter on LinkedIn, minus my name, in lieu of a recommendation. And if you're reading this on LinkedIn: If you need a therapist who is compassionate and caring, yet intelligent and direct, I urge you to contact Tzipora Schiffer. Working with her has been one of the best decisions I've made. Because as she says, you don't have to do it alone. All the best, 🙂
