Teen Therapy Group's Purpose or Mission
Adolescence can be a time of intense social pressure, identity development, and emotional ups and downs. Many teens feel isolated in what they are going through, unsure of where to turn or how to talk about what they’re feeling. Our mission is to create a safe, supportive space where teens can feel understood, connected, and empowered as they navigate this important stage of life. We believe that when young people feel seen and heard, they are better able to understand themselves and move through challenges with greater confidence and clarity.
Through therapist-led virtual groups, we offer teens a place to explore their thoughts, emotions, and relationships in a supportive environment. Group therapy allows teens to learn not only from the therapist, but also from the shared experiences of others who may be facing similar struggles. In these conversations, teens often discover that they are not alone, which can be deeply relieving and empowering. Our goal is to help young people build self-awareness, strengthen their communication skills, and develop meaningful connections that support healthier relationships.
By practicing new ways of expressing themselves and relating to others, teens begin to build the emotional and social skills they need to navigate both present challenges and future experiences. Group therapy offers a unique opportunity to grow in real time with peers who are also learning and evolving. Over time, many teens gain greater confidence in who they are and how they show up in the world. Ultimately, our hope is to support young people in developing the resilience, insight, and connection they need to thrive both now and in the years ahead.
Teen Therapy Group is designed for
This group is designed for teens who are looking for a supportive space where they can connect with peers while learning practical skills to better manage their emotions and relationships. Adolescence can bring many challenges, and having a place to talk openly with others who understand can make a meaningful difference. Many teens benefit from being able to share their experiences with peers their own age who may be navigating similar feelings, questions, and struggles. Within this setting, participants are also guided by a licensed therapist who helps create a safe, thoughtful environment for growth and learning.
The group may be especially helpful for adolescents who struggle with anxiety, low mood, social challenges, or difficulty coping with stress. It is also a good fit for teens who want to build confidence, strengthen their communication skills, and improve how they handle difficult emotions or interpersonal situations. Participants are encouraged to engage with peers, share their experiences at a pace that feels comfortable, and practice new ways of responding to challenges. Through this process, teens often gain insight into themselves and their relationships.
Over time, many participants begin to feel less alone in what they are going through. They also develop practical tools they can use in their everyday lives, whether at school, at home, or in their friendships. Group therapy offers a unique opportunity to learn not only from the therapist, but also from the shared experiences and perspectives of others. In a supportive and respectful environment, teens can begin building the skills and confidence they need to navigate adolescence with greater resilience and self-awareness.
Participants who join Teen Therapy Group can expect
Participants who join this group can expect a supportive, therapist-led environment where they have the opportunity to share their experiences, listen to peers, and feel understood without judgment. The space is designed to help teens feel comfortable being themselves while exploring the challenges they may be facing. Many adolescents carry emotions or questions that can feel difficult to talk about, and having a setting where those experiences are welcomed and respected can be incredibly meaningful. Our goal is to create a place where teens feel safe opening up, reflecting, and learning alongside others.
Each session includes opportunities for open discussion, skill-building, and guided activities that help teens better understand and manage their emotions. Participants will learn practical strategies for coping with stress, navigating social challenges, and communicating more effectively in their relationships. The group also encourages connection between peers who may be facing similar struggles, which often helps teens realize they are not alone in what they are experiencing. Hearing different perspectives and experiences can be both validating and eye-opening.
Over time, many teens begin to develop greater self-awareness and confidence in how they express themselves and relate to others. The group setting allows participants to practice new skills in a supportive environment while receiving thoughtful guidance and feedback. These experiences can help teens feel more capable when handling challenges at school, within friendships, and in everyday life. As the group progresses, participants often leave with practical tools, stronger connections, and a deeper understanding of themselves.
Jewish Community Experience
Our practice is proudly owned and operated by members of the Orthodox Jewish community, and we understand many of the cultural values, family dynamics, and community considerations that can influence the experiences of teens. We recognize that navigating adolescence within a close-knit community can bring unique challenges and pressures. At the same time, our groups are open and welcoming to teens of all backgrounds and identities. We aim to create a space that is both culturally respectful and supportive of each participant’s individual growth and well-being.
Our clinicians bring cultural sensitivity and awareness to conversations that may arise around family expectations, identity, and community life. This perspective can be especially meaningful for teens and families who value working with therapists familiar with the Jewish community. Even so, every participant benefits from a warm, inclusive, and respectful group environment where their experiences and voices are valued. By combining cultural understanding with a focus on emotional and social development, we help teens feel seen, supported, and equipped to navigate both personal and community challenges.
