Why Shira Renzoni, MSW chose to be in the helping profession

Helping others is something that’s always come naturally to me. Even before I officially entered this field, I found myself drawn to the emotional worlds of those around me – listening, offering support, and simply being present. Over time, I realized how meaningful it was for me to witness someone’s healing and growth. I knew I wanted to do this not just in my personal life, but professionally. Being able to walk alongside someone as they gain clarity, strength, and self-understanding is something I consider both a responsibility and a privilege. This path allows me to lean into my empathy, my curiosity about the human experience, and my deep belief in every person’s capacity for healing.

Shira Renzoni, MSW's approach

My approach to therapy is centered around building a strong, authentic connection with my clients. I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where they feel truly comfortable sharing anything that’s on their mind or heart. I believe that real healing starts with feeling seen, heard, and accepted exactly as you are.

My goal is to help each client get to know themselves better – to explore their inner world with compassion and curiosity. When we deepen that self-understanding, we become more equipped to move through life’s challenges and toward healing. I follow my client’s lead and meet them where they’re at, offering presence, empathy, and gentle guidance along the way. I believe in the power of deep listening, and I aim to hold a space where my clients feel validated, cared for, and worthy.

I also support my clients in connecting to their bodies, because so much of what we experience emotionally is held physically as well. I often incorporate elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS) into my work, helping clients access and understand the different parts of themselves with compassion. Ultimately, my approach is about creating a steady, supportive relationship where healing can unfold naturally and at its own pace.

What you can expect from sessions with Shira Renzoni, MSW

You can expect our sessions to feel warm, welcoming, and centered around you. I invite you to bring whatever is present for you in the moment, and I’ll meet you exactly where you’re at. I like to follow my client’s lead while also helping us stay gently focused on what matters most.

I’m a deep listener, and many of my clients share that they feel truly heard and validated in our work together. I bring a lot of empathy into the room, and I do my best to make each client feel seen, special, and worthy – because they are.

I also pay close attention to the wisdom of the body. I believe our bodies hold so much of what we carry emotionally, and learning to tune into that can be incredibly powerful for healing. I often incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS) into sessions, which helps clients better understand and care for the different parts of themselves with compassion and curiosity.

Shira Renzoni, MSW's experience working with the Jewish community

I have had the privilege of working with teen girls at risk who come from very ultra-Orthodox homes, offering them support during some of their most vulnerable moments. Over time, my experience has expanded to include a wide spectrum of individuals within the Jewish community – from teens to young and middle-aged women, each with their own unique story and background.

Being part of this work has deepened my understanding of the diverse experiences within the Jewish community, and I approach each client with sensitivity, respect, and care for their individual path.
